I LOVE this cereal. It's so much better than the one that has wheat in it. You get a nice corn grits flavor, along with all of the other delicious grains, and I like the grainy texture.
Plus it's fast and easy to make. I just pour some about 1/3 way into a big mug, I use CorningWare 1035985 French White 20-Ounce Mug (without the lid) add water to about an inch over the top of the cereal, stir, and nuke for about 2:30 min. in the microwave. Don't worry, there are directions on the bag for measurements, and cooking times...

My current favorite way to eat it is to add a heaping Tbsp of (Not Dutch Process) Cocoa Powder (I usually get it at Trader Joes), a small handful of Traverse Bay Fruit Co. Dried Cherries, 4-Pound Box, a small handful of sliced almonds, some cinnamon, a pinch of salt (and/or anything else that sounds good at the time). Cook, stir, and top with some Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, 15-Ounce Tubs (Pack of 2), and any kind of milk (cow, soy, almond, hemp...). You'd think you were eating a decadent dessert instead of something healthy!

This is the most amazing and delicious cereal, ever. All others pale by comparison. I am especially enamored by the texture (it has texture!) and taste. There is a hint of corn, and the taste is actually many layered. I eat it every morning and I cook it with a 2 percent organic milk and a little water. Some on my family add Greek yogurt to it at the table, but I prefer to eat it with no additions, except for perhaps a little pumpkin spice sprinkled during the fall. Once you try this cereal, there is no going back. And it is even good for you.

I use this about every other day. For me, my wife and my daughter, I fill 1 cup with water and then 2 cups with almond milk. I pre-make this, but I put 1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon, 1/2 tablespoon sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 handful of goji berries. Bring the almond milk and water to a boil in a pot, turn all the way down to the lowest setting, pour ingredients in the pot. Let it go about 12 minutes and it's a great way to start the day.

I love all of Bob's multi-grain cereals, but the 8 grain is by far the best. The 10 grain is too thick and oatmeal-like. The 5 grain doesn't pack enough punch. The 7 grain almost gets there. But the 8 grain. Oh the 8 grain. Damn it is good!

I have never been disappointed with Bob's Red Mill products overall but this 8 grain cereal is probably my favorite of their items. It is a nice blend of grains which work very well together. If sweet processed cereals are your breakfast of choice, then this is not for you unless you decide to throw in a bunch of sugar and other extras. If you enjoy a nice bowl of oatmeal, this is a very welcome change to add in.

I use several of products from Bob's Red Mill. I think they develop healthy products you would like to eat, pay attention to the quality, and provide them through Amazon with good prices. I pre-soak the cereal in milk or water the night before, microwave (2-3 minutes for my 10 oz mug) it in the morning, then stir in some honey, flaxseed meal or Chia seeds, voila!

I was addicted to steel cut oats in the morning and I tried the 10 grain Bob's Red Mill and the 7 grain but, although less expensive, nothing could beat the taste of steel cut oats. Except this 8 grain. The others that I mentioned have too much corn meal dominating their flavor profile. The 8 grain lets the oats stand out. It's gluten free too.

Having dry foods like this delivered to the house is wonderful and the four pack saves money per pound.
