First, you can't beat the price for a production level floor grinder. I do epoxy flooring and often have to remove mastic and paint from concrete decks. Higher priced grinders are fine but they skip over areas where the floor isn't perfectly flat. My guys use hand grinders, because of that. But it is just too hard on the back for any job of any size. This one can handle the variations. Yes, I did take the mounting bolts out and put in some washers to level out the grinding wheel. As is, the wheel digs in a bit too much. Took the weight off too. Otherwise it left ridges in the concrete. The trick is to let the diamond wheel glide over the surface. The mistake is applying too much pressure. These are planers, and they are meant to spin at high RPM's. You will work slower and burn the unit out by applying much pressure. This is also a production machine that will generate lots of dust. You must use high quality dust extraction vacuums. Otherwise you will have a dust storm on your hands and many complaints.

I fit my needs. I have to occasionally grind off areas where concrete is uneven and have used a hand grinder. Saw this as way to save my back. Read prior reviews and they were mixed. Bought it anyway. Yes, it was not level when I got it but since the motor is fastened down at four points it was easy to level by placing washers on the fastening bolts to adjust the motor position. Have no problem with dust removal using a large enough vacuum with dust bags. I use drywall bags. They work better than the regular dust bags. Have to change them frequently to keep proper suction. This is definitely for grinding and not a concrete polisher. That equipment is a whole other category.

I read the other reviews before I ordered. I seem to modify a lot of tools and equipment i buy so I thought if it just needs some tweaking I would be able to handle it no problem. Not the case, it is a flawed design to the core. The dust shroud is to short by a few inches, and the diamond cup wheel doesn't sit remotely close to the floor. Now we have about 10% of the cup wheel making contact with the substrate. you can shim the motor up off of the motor mount to even up the cup wheel, which increases the gap of the shroud and the floor. Which can be corrected with adding a velcro strip all the way around the shroud to make an easily adjustable dust shroud. BUT- they way the motor mounts to the body of the machine adds a lot of support, when shimming the motor up it is lost, so while you might be making good contact with the floor, the motor and grinding head start to bounce.
Easily takes more then 3 times as long as a 7" grinder and some knee pads.

This is great, works well. You need to feel the grind. To cut floors you have to have some artisan skill to keep it level and smooth. Dust control is a must as it cut 2mm in 3 sec. For the price even better

There is no way to level this machine without rigging it yourself. I found 2 washers on the motor mounts is not enough and 3 is to many. If it isnt level it will make bite marks in a level surface. Don't waste your time.... And because I used it, they won't take it back. I'm just out the 500+ bucks...

I will have to contact the manufacturer about adjusting the grinding wheel section- the machine has a lot of potential for small jobs if it works as it should. it seems like the grinding wheel does not sit flat on the surface so grinding is one one side rather than all around. grinding wheel that came with the machine was good and balance.
