I bought these glasses thinking I was going to end up wasting a few dollars but I had to see what all the fuss was about. I will admit when I used them in the daytime I didn't seem to like them that well, it looked like everything had a yellow tint to it and that was distracting to me. I tried them again a few nights later because I usually get headaches at night if I play XBOX, watch TV or work on the computer. I am a computer/network technician so I am doing remote logins a lot at night. I figured I would try these on and give COD: BO2 a shot on the XBOX 360. I was quick to notice the yellow tint had seemed to disappear while I was playing the game. I am not sure if it was just my eyes adjusting or because there was not as much natural light in the house as there would be during the daytime. I also noticed there seemed to be no burning in my eyes and no eye strain from the night time viewing. This low priced product has virtually done away with my headaches and now I no longer need medicine to control what could sometimes become a migraine. Before someone mentions that I may have had to much or to little light in the room causing the headaches I will let you know I tried all kinds of configurations. It just seems my eyes are more sensitive at night and can cause this issue, I have noticed it at other people's houses and movie theaters. It is just part of life and I deal with it but these glasses have helped tremendously.

I have more expensive Gunnar "BIT SURFER" glasses (GUNNAR Computer Eyewear - Bit Surfer Onyx Frame) and saw these for a great price and decided to try them. There are two big differences:

* The Gunnar has a slight magnification effect and the ClearOptix doesn't. This is a major difference. I prefer to have the magnification effect that makes the monitors easier to see.
* Strangely, the ClearOptix create a STRONG (too strong if you ask me) yellow tint on my Dell U2311H monitors, but not on my other monitors where they just create a SLIGHT yellow tint. The Gunnars seem to have a consistent SLIGHT yellow tinting effect on ALL my monitors.

Other points of interest for the ClearOptix:
* I like the aviator style
* Claims to provide UV, UVB, and UVC protection
* Claims "especially helpful with Nintendo 3DS"
* The build quality seems decent for the price, but not as good as my Gunnar glasses
* Made in China (my Gunnar glasses were also made in China)

So, considering the lower price, I'm giving these 4 stars. In my opinion, the Gunnars are superior, but they cost a lot more.

You'll look like you drive a beat up windowless van and the frames will bend if you breath on them wrong but these glasses do help reduce eye strain over prolonged gaming sessions. I game in chunks. Usually wont touch a game for days and then on a day off will sit down for several hours in a clip. Because of this my eyes get sore and bloodshot. Wearing these glasses helps save me the strain and I can get in a 4-5 hour session with no bloodshot. Sure you can buy the expensive ones and I may do that later on but these are great for now just dont let your friends see you wear them.

The design may not be very nice but I got it more for function over fashion. I definitely feel my eye strain reduced when I use them, which is what I needed. They're not going to take a beating, but I got these for use at home with no rigorous activity.

I definitely recommend it for anyone spending hours in front of a TV, computer, phone, etc., at home of course because you may want a more modern design to use outside.

Caught these on sale mad cheap, I'm not a hard core gamer by any stretch of the imagination but I know and feel the strain while reading, watching a movie, playing xbox or my 3DS. I would never spend $80 or more for a pair of Gunnar brand ones, so when I found this deal ($4.99) I figured, sure why not since its only $5. Ordered Saturday afternoon and SURPRISE! They were delivered Monday, Awesome! I ordered these small ones a bit afraid but they fit perfectly on my 25 year old 5'8 average size/frame head. Could tell a difference instantly as my TV was much easier to see. Some people complained about the amber lenses changing colors too much but I didn't experience that until i tried it on my iMac...perhaps its they type of monitor they use since its not an LCD. No matter, as its fine everywhere else for my gaming and movie watching needs. As for their look/style they are whatever, kinda hipster looking but aviator style, they are effective so it doesnt matter as i wont be wearing them outside the house.

I have these and a couple of pairs of Gunnar Optiks glasses. If you look at the 1 and 2 star reviews, people are complaining that they are not as good as the Gunnars, are made cheap, etc. I agree. My Gunnars better build, fit, and work better. They are also over 10X the price. So comparing the two is like comparing a high end Ferrari to a base model Honda Civic. Surprise! The Ferrari is faster, better, etc.

Overall the build quality is good, for the money and with a little adjustment they fit fairly well. (Gunnars fit perfect out of the box.) They do make it easier to work for longer stretches on the computer without headaches or eye fatigue. Best way to know it they REALLY work is to use them for a while, then accidentally forget/loose them. I tore up the office looking for them.

I keep this pair downstairs for when I'm there. (My Gunnars are at work and in the upstairs office). I plan to get another for my laptop bag. If I lose or break a pair, I'm out $5-$10, not $70+.

I did drop them from 5 to 4 stars. The yellow tint is a little too strong and I wish they had the slight magnification like the Gunnars.

Buy a pair and try them for a week. If they work, try the Gunnars. If not, you are out $6.
