I mounted this light on my OK Trident 11 and I love it. It's really bright, sturdy, compact and the SS cover looks great. The body is made of plastic (eh) and the rubber bottom boot snugs it all up. Uses VERY LITTLE battery power which is ideal on my kayak. I'm using a 12v - 18 amp hour batter to power the light and other accessories.

What can I say. I was expecting a solid metal chromed shell but instead received a plastic covered with a thin cheap stainless steel cover, which had the single screw to hold the flimsy metal to the plastic missing. As soon as I took it out of the package, I immediately returned it. Not worth the price. Cheaply made. Not a compliment to the vessel.

Sleek looks and a low profile are what attracted me to this bow light replacement. I am in the process of refurbishing my boat. The old bow light was a classic style, but time had caused the chrome cover on it to pit out. I wanted a lower profile replacement, since there is a cleat just behind where this light mounts. This little number fits the bill perfectly.

Pros:
1. Low profile
2. LED's use less power
3. Bright!!!!!
4. Stylish

Cons:
1. It is a pain to separate the metal housing from the base so you can mount it.
2. It does not come with mounting screws, but as a replacement you can always use the ones you take out of the old light
3. Did I mention what a PITA it is take apart so you can mount it?!?!

Tips & Tricks:
Use a butter knife to gently pry the hard plastic base out of the metal cover. This may take you 5-10 minutes to accomplish. Start at the narrow point at the back of the light, gently pry the plastic part down, then ease the butter knife around the edge on both sides as you approach the front of the light. Eventually, it WILL come apart - EVENTUALLY. Also, there is a little tiny screw that goes in the back of the light that secures the metal cover on it after installation. When you get the light apart, you'll see a little plastic bag inside the light. The little screw is in there.

Use either cold shrink or those wire splicer connector things to connect the light wires to your existing wiring. Make sure everything works before you push that metal cover down. As I stated before - IT IS A PAIN TO REMOVE IT, AGAIN! And if the holes for this light don't line up with the holes for your old light use some JB Weld (Water Weld) or Oakley PVC repair putty to fill in the holes in the gel coat.Read more ›

I bought this and first time used found out that only one of the green lights works. 58 dollars down the drain. I am rebuilding a boat and just now got the wiring complete. So turned the lights on and very disappointed to have gotten a lemon. It is past the time where I could have returned it. I have had problems with LED lights, that have multiple bulbs, in the past. The housing for light is not sealed from the elements. The lights are sealed, so they will be floating in water that comes from being on the bow of a boat. Poor design and I strongly recommend you buy any other light!

We installed this LED light on our bow and it is truly visable for a long way off. Easily 2 or 3 miles away. These LED are super bright and we love the low prfile of the housing. Lines don't catch on this and it's stainless steel housing will look good for years to come. Way nicer than many other's on the market today. Also it's got a nice cushioned gasket to keep moisture from getting inside the light.

Great light- it's low profile fits nicely the nav light cavity on my 18' bow rider. It's surprisingly bright! My only issue is that I can't access the set screw holding down the chrome cap, as it's too tight against the wall of that cavity- but that's not the fault of the light, just unfortunate circumstances for this particular install. It does 'snap' onto the base, but I siliconed it down to be safe.
