I absolutely love this product! The box and cards are so cute!

When I opened the box and began looking at the cards, my 4 year old was immediately intrigued. She's just learning to read and loves any opportunity to do so. She pulled the cards out and began trying to read them. The questions are pretty simple. My Mother and I were making dinner as she sat on the bar. We read maybe 6 cards and it was so much fun. My Mother told me that she and I haven't had that much fun together in a while, you know where we really talked. We played it at dinner as well.

Some of the card questions are:
"What's the coziest place in the house?"
"If you could have any wild animal as a pet what would it be?"
"What is your favorite dessert?"

There are also so blank cards so you can write your own questions. My friend came over and saw them. She liked them. She told me about how her aunt had a jar filled with homemade prompts that they used during dinner. I plan to do that but these cards are very cute and a great jumping off point.

My only con would be, though the cards are durable-ish (like a standard playing card would be) I wish they were laminated for easy cleaning since it'll be used by kids during dinner. I will probably laminate them later on.

If you are worried its only for people to do with their young children, I would say that my husband and I played for two hours this weekend over coffee while the kids slept. Sometimes after you are around each other all day or year after year, you forget to ask the important questions, like "Would you want your family to have its own reality show?"

Rock solid fun product. This was the first question box I ever purchased. I was hoping to spark more original conversation around the dinner table. Get to know my kids and teach them how to have conversation (a waning skill in our video age.) It was a brilliant success! Especially our youngest boy, who, six years younger than his oldest sibling, often felt like he couldn't keep up with the conversation. He could answer these questions and his answers were as interesting and had as much value as the older kids. He would be the first, at any lull in dinner conversation to say, "Can I go get a pie question?" (the circular questions have a picture of a pie on the back.) Questions like "What superhero power do you wish you possessed?" were easy for them to relate to and fun for them to answer. "What is your favorite family tradition?" got us talking about the great times we've had together as a family and gave mom and dad tremendous insight into what our children value most. (Major shocker initially, the unanimously treasured the Christmas Tree Farm we had gone to for several years in a row. I knew they liked it, but didn't know the extent to which they all treasured that activity.) "Is it okay to reveal a secret to protect someone?" got us talking about morals and values (what is the difference between gossiping, tattling and protecting someone?) and proved an invaluable conversation when, years later, my kid counseled a middle school friend to tell friend's parents that friend had been offered alcohol by an older student at school. While there are not as many questions here as in a Chat Pack, and the questions are simpler than those in the Chat Pack, this is still an excellent, excellent product, and, in my opinion, a must have for a family that desires to get to know each other better in a fun and easy way.

My kids love to pull this out at dinner time. The questions are interesting, but a few of them are a tad too advanced for my 6 yr old ("if you could win a Nobel prise, an Oscar, or an Olympic medal, which one would want?"). One issue we had with the box of questions is the box itself. The box has a spacer on the bottom half so only the top half holds the question cards. In essence, you only get half the cards you'd expect based on the box size. Still, we like the questions so half is still good.

I bought this Melissa and Doug set after using our Table Topics set and I found the questions in this set to be less unique. The cards are round and they lay flat in the box so they are harder to use than the square Table Topics cards that can be filed front to back.

Great questions and lots of fun with the kids. This has become quite a hit at the dinner table. Only problem is there aren't as many cards as the height of the container. Lots of empty space.
In addition the cards are sometimes difficult to get in or out.

We have kids ages 12, 9, and 6 who enjoy these conversation topics at the dinner table with me and my husband. My 3 year old doesn't usually understand the questions, but it's entertaining for the rest of us. We were in a conversation rut and this helps a lot. Topics are varied and interesting. It has been nice because our kids generally don't share much about their day and this helps us all learn more about each other. We've played several nights and haven't been through all the cards yet.

We have had so much fun using these at the dinner table. The kids love it, and they often ask to play, "The pie game," when it's time to eat. (Because of the pie pictures on the back of each card.) My kids are 8 and 11 and really enjoy this game. It really helps get the conversation going around the table.
