This black squid ink pasta is the next best thing to fresh squid ink pasta. I love using freshly made squid ink pasta from a local pasta shop, but having Morelli dry pastas on hand is incredibly convenient for when I don't want to run all over town for the perfect ingredients.

Great bite, doesn't overcook too quickly, good flavor. But honestly, if you want real squid ink flavor (like at an authentic Italian restaurant), you need to cook this with real squid ink in your sauce. There is no dry pasta out there that will taste like fresh squid ink on its own! Lol.

I have cooked with a few of the Morelli pastas and I've been very pleased! This one, in particular, is now on my regular subscription list.

The pasta was nice and firm, and the quality was overall good. But, read the description carefully as the squid ink level is low enough that you don't really get any taste from it. It is enough to dye the pasta but not enough to flavor it which is a shame. As a regular pasta, decent. As a squid ink pasta, much to be desired in inky flavor.

I had this type of first time when traveling to Italy/Florence and really loved it. It's best when you pair it with seafood pasta sauce and white wine. top quality pasta. The real wheat germ makes it taste significantly different, and much better than local US pasta.
