This amp is not worth your time even looking at, MOVE ON PLEASE.

I plugged it in and it blew instantly. I have experience wiring electronics and sound systems, so I know I wired it properly. However, I still tried re-wiring it in a variety of configurations, eliminating possible error points systematically, and in the end my original diagnosis of this amp being problem was true.

I instantly returned it for a refund.

I would absolutely NOT recommend this. If it worked it'd be exactly what I need... but "IF" is a big factor...

Well let's see...

1) Didn't catch fire
2) Didn't Blow up
3) No DOA
and
4) Didn't catch fire

What it does is drive a 12-inch BIC subwoofer (who's amp died) to reasonable levels in a room stereo setup.
It is only recommended by the manufacturer to drive 8" subs. So its doing great outside its performance parameters.

Like I said, it didn't blow up or catch fire.

The only star deduction is because of the "ON THUMP" which is annoying.

Solid little amp. Buy it.

This thing blew as soon as I plugged it in. Ended up being a huge waist of time. I won't be purchasing another one

*Update 9/29/15 - Unit didn't even last 2 weeks with minimal use. During normal operation it drove a loud popping noise into the sub followed by complete failure of device accompanied by the fresh smell of burnt electronics. Returning immediately and will not trust any electronics from this brand again.

Misleadingly advertised as a 100-Watt single channel amplifier for sub-woofers, this device actually barely outputs 40-Watts consistently. Ordered on short notice due to an immediate need but once received, upon closer inspection, the single data sheet included in the box reveals it to be 40-Watt continuous, 100-Watt peak power. What this means is that it completely fails to drive a typical 100-Watt rated home theater Sub-woofer above barely audible levels; it immediately starts clipping or fading above 75% of the unit's volume nob because it can only output 40-Watts consistently, which is simply not enough to drive the 100-Watt Sub at acceptable levels before the unit's built in safety kicks in to avoid component burn out or over heating I guess, since other reviewers had reported earlier releases of this same unit to be DOA upon first use.

For now I keep it at at 60% volume which is barely audible, just enough to drive the Sub and let it be known that it is there and working, but I wholeheartedly regret purchasing this unit and will replace it with a proper, albeit significantly more expensive, standalone Home Theater Amp soon as I can spare the funds to do so.

The short of it: AVOID PURCHASING THIS UNIT... unless you're driving a 3'' Sub.

I wanted a rack mounted amp especially made to play subwoofers. Similar to those made to be inside the speaker boxes. With the basic controls for a sub, such as phase control, lowpass filter and auto turn on. And this amp fits the bill.

Documentation is minimal. The Model number of the amp I got is OSD M13. It's a class AB amp. The owners manual lists power as 150 watts. The Amazon description lists it at 250 watts with a different model number SMP250. Neither say into what load. Looking at OSD website I saw a couple of amps with different model numbers that looked similar and claim to be high current 2 ohm stable.

So I gave it a shot for a dual (4 ohms each) voice coil 12" sub I had laying around. VC's hooked up in parallel to make a 2 ohm load. So far, so good. I haven't played for long periods of time yet. But the AB class amp runs cool and seems to handle the 2 ohm load. And while I don't have testing equipment to rate the power output I did measure the max SPL on my main sub (a 4 ohm 15") to be around 3 DB less than when driven by a Carver M-1.5 600 watts per channel amp.

So all else being equal, power is close to half of the 600 watt into 8 ohm Carver amp. I would not want to compare the max spl using the 12" woofer due to Carver amp not being 2 ohm stable. I burnt out a Carver cube amp, the M-400 playing it into too low of an impedance load.

No damping factor specs, but upon visual and audible inspection, it seems to have good control of motion of speaker.

I use this to power three "AuraSound AST-2B-4 Pro Bass Shaker Tactile Transducer". It works perfectly. I have then mounted underneath my couch and it really adds to our movie experience. Movie theaters now have these and charge you extra to feel your chair shake.

Took a while to get this thing tuned up right. I have two for two subs in separate zones. Bypassed the filter by running this through a speaker zone selector with ohms protection and volume control.
The image is not the unit I received. The shipper was responsive in sending a second unit but it was exactly the same as the first (no Vu meter) Finally, the actual width is a little shorter than the rest of my components so when it is stacked, it looks a little funny.
Overall, I would re-think my stereo wiring options before going this route again.
