Have several of these for .45 ammo and I prefer them over others with a snap lid. Yes, you have to remove the top from the bottom but when dropped they are less likely to spill, especially if you put a rubber band around the box. Ammo can be placed bullet down, for easier removal, and less rattle. They also seem to take up less space in a gun bag or when stacked in a gun safe. I just wished they came in 9mm and a different color for easy identification.

It does what it says it supposed to do, hold fifty .44 magnum and .45 ACP rounds perfectly. I've used it for both types of cartridges, but nothing in between. Love it and recommend it for anyone looking for a slip-top case.

These work great,ffor storage of complete bullets, but for reloading the short 45 ACP casings do not come clear the top adequately to grip with fingers. Must use a needle nose pliers to lift them out. I use them for storage of bulk bullet orders.

IF-- you are looking for an ammo box that can handle "All of the OTHER .44's and .45's" then THIS is the one you want! For .44 Magnum and .45 "Long" Colt, the box will barely close on rounds loaded to SAAMI length spec. 240 grain Keith SWC's in .44 Special is about the LONGEST cartridge that will fit, and you're going to get about 3mm of daylight showing through the finger cutouts! Meanwhile, .45 ACP empties are going to slide ALL the way down and are going to be a pain to get out if they ever stick! (Don't even THINK about .45 GAP) But if you shoot .44 S&W Russian, .44 S&W American, .442 Revolver, .450 Revolver aka .450 Adams sometimes called .450 Corto or .450 Short, any of the obsolete pre-1918 11mm revolver rounds, and/or .44 British Bulldog aka .44 Extra Short, here's the box with internal divisions you need. .455 Webley is a little tricky here, you first have to put a casing in every other space and THEN go back and put the remaining 25 in the alternating spaces as the rims are going to overlap. .45 Schofield problematical for the same reason unless your .45 Schofields are cutdown Starline .45 "Long" Colts like almost all of mine are (in which case no problem!). I give 4 stars here because the box is borderline pricey...and because of the rim overlap on .455 Webley and (normal factory) .45 Schofield.
