It is currently used to collect dust.

I originally used the product to connect my xBox 360 and Smart DVD?Blu-Ray player to the same HDMI in on my television. The device would only function properly of both the Blu-Ray player and xBox were turned on.

In an attempt to get more power to the unit, I also attached my HDMI in for the cable box. This solved the power issue, but there was no sound for the cable service.

There is a place for a power adapter, but it is not included in this purchase. You will need to purchase that separately. Once it has power it works, but seeing as it requires power from other devices and won't work unless you have 2 things hooked up, it is quite the disappointment.

My TV only has 3 HMDI ports, and I had 5 things that I wanted to plug into it. I have my DirecTV box, PS3, PS4, Xbox One, and home theater system. I plugged my DirecTV box into the Xbox One so it would turn on at the same time as my TV so this brought it down to 4 things to plug in. My husband plays the PS4 a lot, and I still play some games on the PS3 so these are what we plug into the other 2 ports in my TV. This left the home theater system. We don't always use it, so I didn't want to plug it into the Xbox and have it turn on everytime the Xbox was turned on. This made it to where we had to unplug one thing and plug in the home theater system each time we wanted to use it.
With this port switch, I was able to plug in the PS3 and home theater system into the switcher and just have one HDMI cord plugged into the TV for the 2 devices. Now I turn to the input that has the switcher on it and use the remote for the port switch to pick what device I want to use. I was worried about the signal strength of the remote because it is a small remote, but it does work for the distance I need which is about 13ft.
As I said, the remote for the port switch is small so it could be very easy to lose. The remote is only about 4in long and 1 1/2in wide so you do have to pay attention to where you lay it down. Overall, I do like this HDMI port switch. It has made it much easier for all of our devices since now we don't have to constantly plug and unplug. It doesn't require batteries since it gets its power from the TV. The only thing is that it doesn't come with an HMDI cord to plug it into the TV. You have to have one or buy one for it.
I received this product free for my honest opinion. This is my opinion after receiving and testing this product myself.

I have a TV with only one HDMI port and wanted to use my Fire TV box in addition to the HDMI Cable box input. Unit arrived neatly packaged but with no power adapter although it had a DC input connector. Needless to say no worries as it is self powered when connected to a HDMI device, connected the IR sensor and pulled the remote battery saver strip out to find it works great, now I can effortlessly switch between inputs without getting out of my chair. Only complaint is the LED's showing which input is selected are rather bright, so I had to hide it behind the TV out of the line of sight, this was not a problem with the plug in IR cable which was long enough to do this.

I use 3 HDMI devices (Blu-ray player and two game consoles) with my TV which only has one HDMI port on the back so I needed a switch to avoid frequent cable swapping when changing devices.
The plus is that it does let you switch devices without switching cables and has good signal quality.
Minuses:
The auto switching only works with the newest game console, not the blu-ray player or older game console, so manual switching is necessary.
The switch has a remote, but the range is so short, by the time you get close enough for it to work, you can just push the button on the switch itself to change input. I use a programmed Harmony remote for controlling all other devices providing input to the TV and it is great, but it won't operate the switch.
Switch has an input for an A/C adapter, but I queried the manufacturer and they don't provide or even have one available specifically for this unit. Manufacturer stated that A/C adapter is only needed whenusing extremely long HDMI cables anyway, so in my case not a factor. If you had that situation you could probably find a generic A/C adapter with the right output voltage and jack pin configuriation.

For the low price it was an okay solution.

My Roku, cable box and computer are hooked into this switch box. Works flawlessly. You also don't need to worry if the battery dies on the remote the unit has a switch button. Plus lets not forget the price (very low). I had bought a GE 2 port switch that cost 3 times the price and failed after 6 months. I am a very happy user.

Great accessory for a tv with limited HDMI outlets. I have several and they all auto connect to the device plugged into it when that device is turned on. Has an IR remote and detector to change inputs if needed. I use my remote on one set just by selecting a programmed HDMI key. The number of pushes will determine which input I want. Using with a Magnavox recorder, BluRay player and A Roku all going into one HDMI tv input coming from the switcher output.
