Disappointed. The product image is misleading. These spoons do not have engraved marks (as the image shows) and the handles are different. The marks are printed with black 'paint' that comes off easily after several washes = forget about your dishwasher. This is how the real product looks like [...]

Purchased this set of Cuisinart CTG-00-SMP Stainless Steel Measuring Spoons thinking that it would be a good replacement for a set that I had owned years ago. Without getting too snarky about them, let's just say that they don't quite live up to the fabled Cuisinart standard.

◆ Issues:

Take a look at the product photo for these spoons. You'll see that the spoon portion is polished stainless steel. In reality, these are made from brushed stainless steel. Fortunately they do pass the "magnet test" which means that they are actually steel and not aluminum.

Also in the product image, what is shown are spoons with engraved handles, showing the Cuisinart name, along with both metric and US kitchen measurements. The actual product as received has both the measurements and the logo in some type of black paint. They are supposed to be "dishwasher safe" according to the specs, but from past experience with other kitchen products, the paint might wear off in a dishwasher, so I'll stick with hand washing.

◆ Rating:

It's probably best to rate these measuring spoons on a few subjective values. Your ranking may differ from mine, but here goes:

▪ Functionality: 4-stars; measurements US and metric kitchen standards
▪ Finish: 2-stars; rough, not well-finished as in the product photos
▪ Value: 3-stars; subjective, but you can probably do better searching a bit

As such, that averages at a 3-star overall rating, meaning that they're OK, but no better.Read more ›

I enjoy the use of precision tools whether I am cooking, doing car repair, woodworking etc. These measuring spoons fit the bill. They don't quite hit the bullseye though. The handles are on the thin side. If you need to put any effort into scooping, you can bet they will bend. They are easily straightened out however - I had to "fix" all of mine when they arrived from Amazon. Cuisinart, make the handles more hefty and strong and you'll have done it right!

I had cheap measuring spoons but for a long time wanted some from my favourite brand Cuisinart.

I am sure these measuring spoons will work for what they are intended for, but I have to object to the fact that the item received is not what is pictured. It is hard to determine if the quality of what I received is the same as what is shown in the picture on Amazon, but it appears that the item shipped is a lower quality and cheaper item. To stamp the handles as shown in the picture is a more expensive process than simply painting the information on the handles which is the item that is actually shipped. I am sure some bean counter made the decision to save money by painting the information instead of stamping it. I can rub my finger on the paint and see it wearing off, so the difference is that eventually, the information on the handle will disappear and/or be hard to read. And instead of receiving something that will last for generations, I expect that this item will end up in some yard sale not worthy of keeping around for very long. Please, Amazon, either match the picture to what you are selling or ship what is shown.

These attractive spoons are well made and marked with metric (ml) and US measures. The have a nice, precision edge for leveling dry ingredients. They would be ideal if the gram measure was also included.

not as shiny as pictured but very sturdy and nice. i like them very much. they are hard to get off the ring if you want to use them individually but maybe that's just because i dont want to break my nail and am not putting much elbow grease into getting them off the ring. :)
