No more wedges and endless sludgey sound for us. This is the only way to go. Sound is mixed the way I like it, works just fine with only one ear set in if you still want to hear the live mix, and the clarity is good. Highly recommended. Just remember to pack a few extra 9v batteries for the body pack.

I've used IEM systems before, and this unit is well worth the price. What's cool about this one is that it will accept two different inputs that you can mix individually to suit your needs on stage. I personally catch a line-out from my bass amp head for channel one, and then have the sound man send me a monitor mix signal from the other band members for line two. I can then blend my personal bass amp signal with the main group monitor signal as I want. Range of the unit is good, as I have yet to defeat the range in any big club I've played in so far. (I run wireless for my bass rig also.) Instead of going wireless, you can also connect the transmitter to the belt pack unit direct with the included 1/4" phone plug (guitar) cord if you want. It's pretty long.

The belt pack unit takes one 9-volt battery which lasts me a little more than two gigs on an alkaline battery.. It has a power LED that will start blinking when you have about 15 minutes of power left.

I think the included ear buds sound great. They sound better than any of my amp speaker cabinets. They are built pretty tuff, too. I've accidentally dropped the belt pack with them attached several times, and the strong ear bud wires seemed to survive OK, You can buy more expensive ones if you want, but these work great for me. They come with a range of assorted different size ear pieces. It will take you awhile to figure out how to fit and wear the ear buds. But, when you do, you will find them to be very comfortable and will not just come out easily no matter how much you move around.

The only complaint I have is that every now and then, one ear bud will not be working when I first put them on. I simply take them off and twist the connections once, and they work fine the rest of the night.

So far so good. We're using 2 of these for our bands setup. We have metronome and backing tracks playing in our ears. The sound is crisp and clear... The drummer needs the metronome WAY louder than we do (guitar, bass, vocals) in our heads. Which is why we bought two transmitters. Now we can put each on their own channel and send a louder metronome to the drummer and a more moderate one for the rest of us.

I have used this in about 15 shows so far and I love it! I recommend getting an aftermarket set of ear buds. I bought some bass booster sony's from best buy and was using them and one night tried to switch to the ones that came with the unit. super tinny sounding and just overall not good compared to my $70 pair of buds. they do have a better fitment though. Overall I couldnt do a show without this system now...except I am now duracell's best customer!

The product have an excellent audio quality, like all products from Shure. But the bodypack receiver is a battery eater.

Sounds great! It works great for use on stage. Sound man sends me a line. I run a line out off my amp. Both go into the transmitter. The sound man uses the line out of the transmitter for my bass. I blend the two and rock ! That is why it uses front mounted inputs. Make sure you have a balance cable from the house. A regular 1/4 inch unbalanced cable will have noise. I used a 1/4 TRS adapter on a mic cable.

Shure has a great reputation for excellent products, but they missed the boat on this one. For a $500 IEM system I would expect crystal clear sound and versatile features. I was rewarded with a lot of static hiss on all channels, regardless of where I stood. For something this expensive, why on earth isn't there a squelch control? This is a feature found on other products to eliminate hiss, but is absent on this product. While the ability to blend two signals is nice, having the input jacks on the front of the unit is a major flaw. Most of the time, these go in a rack of some kind, and you typically leave everything hooked up when you move your rack around. Having the inputs on the front really messes this up. Save your money and buy a used Audio-Technica M2 or M3. The only thing this set has going for it is the monitors; the SE215 buds are great entry-level monitors.

I am so happy with this purchase! IT really makes a huge difference and it works very well with my Line 6 wireless mic system. I couldn't be happier...
