    While I have been mostly happy with many other orthotics, the extra height they add always adds pressure under the laces that gets uncomfortable after a long day. In addition to being very comfortable and supportive, these do not add height or pressure. I've worn them for months various shoes, and they have transformed even the cheaper pairs into some of the most comfortable shoes I've worn. I tried about five other kinds, these pollysorbs are the winners and I'm stocking up.

    These are thin enough to use in my dress shoes, but still provide plenty of cushioning and support. I don't have any specific foot problems, I just like comfortable shoes. Despite saying that these are for medium/high arches, I find that the arch in these is lower than that of the green insoles, and these orange ones are much more comfortable for me.

    I bought these insoles to put inside my Madden Men's Kong Slip-On Shoes (Tom's look-a-likes), since they were flat and had no real support or cushion. These seemed to be the only thin insoles available here on Amazon with overall good reviews, so I gave them a shot. I'm a wedding photographer, so every time I am on the job I have to be on my feet for up to 18 hours at a time! That said, all the "comfort" shoes that I looked at were...well...ugly. I decided to go with a pair of dress shoes from Aldo and some Canvas slip-ons and add some insoles instead. The Spenco Proforms have been an excellent addition to both pairs!

    PROS

    - They are thin. The sole in my shoes is glued on, so I needed something that would fit on top. These worked very well!
    - Despite being thin, they definitely offer superior cushioning compared to most "stock" soles, even when compared to most tennis shoes
    - They offer mild arch support
    - They were easily trimmed at the front to fit my shoes
    - They are machine-washable (air dry only)

    CONS
    - Arch support is positioned a little too far forward for my foot

    OVERALL
    These definitely improve my overall comfort for my long days of taking photos! They are not ideal (seeing as I didn't go and get some fitted somewhere), but compared to the stock soles of my slip-ons and my Aldo dress shoes they are really very good - I no longer get home at night in pain, clamoring to remove my shoes! These are ideal for regular shoes - I am sure there are better insoles for sports shoes. Definitely a good purchase!

    I have really high arches, and tend to suffer from shin spints and plantar fasciitis, so I'm very picky about my insoles. these are awesome in my workout shoes! I've been wearing them for several months with no complaints.

    I put these extra thin insoles in my pair of business leather shoes for several months now, and they have been working as I had expected. They especially protect my heels against a fatigue despite the day long standing/walking (I am in the sales business). The insole surface got better than the previous Spenco model, which remains dry throughout the whole day use. I will try these in my tennis shoes, which currently use previous Spenco thicker insoles, and see how they go.

    I bought these insoles for three main reasons: 1.) Deep heel cups, 2.) Arch support, and 3.) Forefoot cushioning. While they have good forefoot cushioning, they fail on the other two counts. Firstly, the heel cups, while deeper than most stock insoles for running or walking shoes, are not as deep as I had hoped - about 1/2" at best. The pictures make it seem much deeper- this is misleading. Since I have narrow heels, I need something deeper to help stabilize my heel.

    Second, the arch support is not particularly good either. Spenco lists these as being suitable for medium to high arches. I have medium arches that find high, firmed arches insoles (e.g. superfeet green or Sole softec Ultra) to be a little too high and uncomfortable. Yet these insoles provide little arch support, and not just because the arch isn't very firm. The arch just isn't high in these. I had to add a cut piece of foam under the arch (for both lateral and longitudinal arch support) to provide any support at all. This is again very misleading. The small metatarsal "bump" the insoles have are useless - it is just a slightly raised area, and under the insole, you see an indent for it. It simply collapses under even the slightest pressure.

    Third - while the black forefoot cushioning is quite good, it is poorly placed. I measure a solid 10.5 US on a brannock device. I bought the size 10/11 spenco insole. These insoles are LONG - could probably accomodate a size 11.5 shoe, maybe even a 12. The problem is that the black foam doesn't run close enough to the arch for me, and my forefoot is only partially on it. While the cushioning is still quite good, it seems odd to make the placement so far forward. If the insole is listed as able to accomodate a size 10 foot, the forefoot cushioning should be accomodated as well.    Read more ›

    I bought these based upon the positive reviews. However, I was very disappointed in the heel padding. The way these are designed the heel padding "box" doesn't seem to compress equally with the surrounding padding creating a pressure points around the egdes of the black heel padding. In other words it was quite possibly the worst 3 days ever for my feet. I prefer the blue profoot pads you can get from walmart for $6.
