I bought these to donate to my son's day care so the children could work in the garden. Although I personally would prefer heavier, metal tools, I understand why they requested plastic for the 1-3 year olds. I was delighted that these tools feel sturdy, well-made, and are brightly colored so you can find them later. Definitely worth the money.

I looked and looked for a children's gardening set that wouldn't break or pose a danger to a toddler. My 2.5 year old loves these tools. She rakes and digs outside when I work in the garden, and occasionally offers me one to use myself. They work well and are sturdy plastic.

Excellent for toddler sensory bins! Thick sturdy plastic frankly the best I have seen for that age group. I just would not allow the toddlers to use this with water as the tools are hollow to keep a good weight and whenever something is hallow inside there is always the possibility that it could take water and have black mold grow inside.... so only for dry things like rice, sand, beans, pasta, etc. So many possibilities!
