Got this pan for Christmas and have been loving it ever since. It was my first stainless steel pan so I made sure I knew a few things before I used it.

Always pre-heat the pan before adding the oil. Then add the oil and let it come to temperature, then add food.

I've cooked scallops using oil (clarified butter is better in terms of carmelization, but I didn't have any at the time) and the first one I went to flip stuck, and then I realized that the pan is so good, that when the food is properly browned, it lifts off the pan and allows me to turn it without sticking. Turned 14 other scallops with no problems. This pan basically told me when the scallops were cooked perfectly.

I seared filets using oil before putting them in the oven, and once again, nothing stuck and was easy to clean. The next night I cooked Parmesan crusted chicken breasts using clarified butter, no sticking. Seared two chicken breasts in oil tonight, once again, no sticking.

I also fried two eggs using butter in the pan. The trick there is to use low heat (learned that from Fernand Point) and you should be ok. But honestly, I'd use a nonstick if it was available because it just makes life a little easier. Parts of the egg will slightly stick to the pan so you just need to move them every minute or so, but the whites can tear if you aren't careful and then you are left with a fried egg that has the whites separated from the yolk. I haven't tried oil so that may fix that problem, but eggs fried in oil is unappetizing to me. So if possible, just use a nonstick man. But, it is possible to fry eggs in an All Cladd stainless steel pan (I actually did them over easy) and clean up was, once again, no problem.

I love this pan!

Tip: make sure to heat the pan untill water skiddles on #3.5 or 4.
Add a spoon or three of oil and coat the pan.
Pay attention not to coke or smoke the oil too much.
I like to add butter in addition to the oil.

To clean, while hot wipe with paper towel.
Allow to cool.
maybe, add water to soak.
If needed, use baking soda or barkeepers friend to polish / break away the grime.

All of this is less than 5 minutes of work.

This All-Clad Fry Pan was purchased to replace the last non-stick fry pan of the same size! We have been replacing non-stick fry pans every two years and for the money we have spent, could have bought a complete All-Clad cookware set! The pan arrived timely and once washed was put to service frying up a salmon recipe my wife likes. Slight browning of the pan while frying but really nothing stuck other than a bit of breading. And the fry pan is being used on a ceramic cooktop stove, and the flat bottom transfers heat evenly as advertised.
And once the meal was prepared and after dinner and the pan had cooled, cleanup was a bit of soaking and cleaning and the pan now is put away and looks New!
So far, So good!

We bought this Fry Pan to get an idea what we were letting ourselves in for if we were to purchase a whole set. I am really pleased with this pan although it has taken a little practice to get the cooking on it right, there is a great deal of information out there on seasoning the pan and it really does work - we now have no fear of cooking eggs - fried, scrambled or omelettes. Most of the trick seems to be in the seasoning and the temperature at the time of commencing cooking. The results for steak and whole chicken breast have also been awesome - this pan retains heat well and cooks much better than the heavy and expensive non-stick we always used to use.

I recently started catering and needed a mobile saute station. I bought two induction burners and this 12 inch saute to go with a couple other D5 pans I got for my birthday. The set-up rocks. If you use an induction system, these pans are perfect and worth the price because they will remain great looking because they won't get burnt looking on the bottom because of conventional heat sources and they will last forever. All Clad rules.

Nice size, easy to clean, and hopefully will last for a long time as it's quite expensive. After having cast iron cookware my entire life, I was unsure as to weather I'd enjoy using stainless steel, but I had no choice as my new Monogram cooktop would not allow for non-enameled cast iron, which was what I had. Based on other reviews, I did not even look at other stainless, but decided to go with what others said was the best on the market and so far, no complaints.

I did a lot of research prior to this purchase. The majority of it was from friends and acquaintances who adored All-Clad as well. I have had it for several months now and it cleans up in a snap after a good soak. The cooking is even...even when it is not completely on the burner. We will be slowly adding the other pots and pans when able. Non-stick pans are great in the beginning, but all will slowly degrade eventually.
