I bought this blade to have a shorter option for my Goldendoodles. I usually use a 4 blade and thought I'd try this as I hear good things about the Wahl competition series. This blade seemed to have trouble going through my dogs' thick coats despite it being a shorter length it was so inferior to my Andis blades that I quickly gave up. My Andis 4 blade was easier to get through and it should have been the opposite with the length difference. Unfortunately this was my first time getting around to using it and now I'm just a few days outside of Amazon's return window and am stuck with this new blade that I've used for less than 3 minutes. I'm probably going to have to replace it with an Andis blade :(

Terrible. Professional groomer of 10 years. I take impeccable care of my equipment and after only 4 gentle uses this blade will not cut through ANY hair. Wahl has really gone down hill & I am very disappointed.

Not sure why this blade has bad reviews but it is my best 3 blade ever owned. Better than my Andis and Oster, Right up with my Geib blade. The grooves are superb for combing through the hair as it cuts. In fact I'm finding all my Wahl blades are better than Andis and Oster which I had used for years.

I'm so glad I stumbled onto the competition series blades. They last so much longer and give a better overall cut. No more fly a way's or jagged edges. Everything is nice and smooth. They also don't get nearly as hot as other brands and clean out is much easier.

I use this blade with my Wahl KM10. I have used it three times now to groom my Westie and it does a great job on her back and neck! I haven't had any problems with lines or anything. Over all a great product.

I've been a groomer for 15 years and hear and there i go on line in search of new or better grooming tools. Well i found this black blade read up on it bought it and i really did not like it's performance it stuck alot left ridges on the fur/hair even after the dogs were washed and dryed and i had to have it sharpeneded twice since i bought 2 months ago. I guess i'll keep looking.

It worked fine on my mixed labrador-sheperd breed's hair but when I used next on my Belgian Malinois it could hardly cut her hair.

In my opinion it is only good for one cutting. The hair of my Belgian Malinois are tough and did easily dulled the blade.

As a dog groomer, it's tricky finding reliable equipment sometimes. I'm very picky about my blades and have found that other blade manufacturers are inconsistent, dull quickly, chip easily, or sometimes just don't cut right no matter how you adjust them.

These Wahl competition series blades cut with the precision of ceramic blades, are lightweight, and stay cooler longer without the drawbacks of ceramics.

I had to adjust my blade when I received it, probably due to getting bumped around in shipping, otherwise I am very satisfied. Wahl never let's me down.
