I bought a new one because I lost it. I used it for years. I had replaced it with the blue Dritz copycat because that's all I could find at the fabric store. Well, the blue one broke on the first use. Instead of buying one here, I bought this on the manufacturer's site (schallercorporation dot com) and got 3 of these for less than $10 with free shipping!

So, you lost the string to your sweat pants/hoodie or you are a sewer and are threading elastic through a waistband or making scrunchies. This is the best threader that I have come across. Even if you don't sew, you can put back your strings after they come out in the wash in literally seconds. No more safety pin threading. I keep one handy in the wash room so that you can re-thread those pesky strings right away before they get lost for good!!

This simple tool makes a world of difference to me. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and on many days my hands are extremely stiff. I have been converting some of my pants to drawing string so I do not have to cope with zippers. This tool makes it so much easier than using a safety pin.

The concept is good, but if you are using this for something where the elastic needs to be gathered, this doesn't work. If your elastic is shorter than what you are threading...30 inch elastic, 48 inch long item, this is pointless. The elastic pulls out of the eye hole, because you are tugging so hard to get it through. This will only work right if what you are stringing elastic through is the same length as the elastic. 30 inch elastic, 30 inch item being made.

This threaded is fantastic. Simple, well designed and easy to use. Simply put one end of the drawstring into the catch loop and push the other larger rounded end through one hole and gently push until you reach the other end. This is a life saver! I have workout pants that unfortunately are only available with drawstring and two pairs had lost them. I didn't want to buy new pairs so I decided to order this item. It took less than five minutes to add the string back. What a great item. I love the ease of use. If you have drawstring items, you need this. Highly recommended.

It is completely insane how life-changing this simple piece of plastic has been. I make and sell embroidered drawstring bags, and had been using a safety pin to pull the ribbon (or other drawstring material) through the channel, as my frugal mother taught me when I was young. As most sew-persons know, they have a tendency to become unpinned while in the channel - most of my bags are satin or other fancy material, so having an open pin stuck inside has the potential to snag and completely ruin the project (during the final step, no less). I've also had issues with the safety pin getting hung up on seam allowances, and when I use ribbon, being poked with a pin causes the end to fray & have to be trimmed off later.

This simple tool has instantly eliminated all my drawstring problems! The ribbon slides into the eye at the flexible end, and the stiff end goes through the channel, directly to the other opening, give it a little tug, and zzzzzZZZIP! All done in 2 seconds, with zero frustration! I can't even believe how much I love this silly thing. Whoever invented it was a GENIUS. It has sped up my work time, eliminated stress, and improved the quality of my life! Not to mention, rescued my fancy satin bags from potential demise due to ugly pin snags.

I haven't tried it yet with pulling elastic through a waistband, but I'm very confident it will be just as easy and satisfying. If my mother were still around, she would give me no end of hell about spending money on something that can be done by a safety pin. And technically it can be done by a safety pin, but this is SO MUCH BETTER! Worth $8.50, if only for the sake of making the last step of a project super simple and fun. Sewing is supposed to be fun! Not frustrating!

Super easy, took me less then 5 minutes to get my drawstring fixed and that includes the time it took to find them...hehe! Great product!!! Super simple to use and I plan on keeping it somewhere special for "quick fixes". That same 2 minutes would have been up to an hour! Never again!!!

Very handy for replacing drawstrings in tennis shorts and sweatpants although the cord I use for that purpose is a bit bigger in diameter than what this might be designed to handle. So I do need to use a screwdriver to pry the eyelet open a bit more to get the cord inserted without fraying. But after that step, everything goes smoothly. (I did not dock any rating stars for the size issue since the cord was my choice.)
