Purchased this for my kitty who has a long history of chronic diarrhea. After taking her to vet to rule out any other disease or parasites, the only thing the vet found with tests was "excessly high bacteria in her stools", and we left with antibiotic pills, which did not seem to help, besides bringing out the dreaded "cat pilling" syndrome.
I purchased IntelliFlora after trying the higher priced name brand, with limited results. Although this produce has not "cured" my kitties' diarrhea, there has been an improvement, she has gained some weight back, and seems like she has more spunk and zest for life. Since kitty is a tiny girl (barely 6 pounds) I like the fact this product is in a bottle with a tiny scoop, I add just a small amount to her food each day, rather than opening a "one size fits all" packet.
I would recommend this product to fellow pet owners with pets who suffer from chronic diarrhea

There is one difference I have found between fortiflora and this product. Fortiflora uses animal digest to flavor their product and this one's taste is derived via liver. I do believe my cats prefer the taste of fortiflora, but they do not hesitate to lick every last bit of this product. It aids in my cats chronic diarrhea and works exactly like I need it to.

My cat has been to the vet too many times and no one can tell me what's wrong with her. Recently she was taken in to be fixed and they had to reverse the anesthesia because she started to convulse. All I was told was that it wasn't normal.So I ended up paying close to $150 to have her fixed using gas instead. Time and money willing, I'll find out what's wrong with my baby. Meanwhile this product has maintained her health and she seems so much better with it then without.

Good alternative to fortiflora and saves you a few bucks as well. Easily recommended.

Have been giving this to a cat with IBD. His system seems to be mostly back in balance with a few incidents here and there. That was probably from giving too much. The jar says a full scoop, I give 1/4 to 1/3 or less twice a day. He seems to like the taste. I have two kittens on minor amounts also. Do not give the cats too much or it has a negative effect on the bowels. I will reorder this when I run out as it is doing a good job. I was cleaning up messes 2 to 3 times a day, now I rarely have to do that.

My older female Chihuahua was had a chronic yeast or bacteria infection for almost a year. I took her to the vet who couldn't tell me what it was exactly but gave me prednisone which cleared it up for about 2 weeks. Long story short, I did my research and got her on a better food and started adding this to each feeding. Her problem has completely cleared at this point. She gradually went from frantic scooting (and I mean frantic) to once-in-a-while scooting, to occasional licking, to now nothing. She's much happier and I am much less grossed out. I'll keep using this product because it is totally worth it.

Update: 6/7/2013 - I ran out of the product and decided not to buy more, to see if my dog's infection would return. Sure enough, about 3 weeks later I noticed her "scooting" her bottom again. I am going to reorder this to see if it clears it up, and if it does I will know for sure that this product keeps her bacterial/yeast infection at bay.

Update: 7/1/2013 - After using this product for a couple of weeks I haven't noticed her scooting anymore. I'm going to keep giving her this probiotic indefinitely since it seems to be the only thing that helps her with this issue.

My cats like this sprinkled on top of their food. Is less expensive than Purina's Forti-flora. Perhaps they don't go quite as crazy over it as they do for Forti-Flora, but they still like it a lot and it gets them to eat when they are finicky. Don't know if it will do much for diarrhea control because that's not why I bought it. I bought it for their overall health. Probiotics are great for the immune system.

I cannot say enough good things about Intelliflora. It's an amazing wonder probiotic that I use on my kitties and doggies to keep them regular. Last summer (2012) my kitties all developed chronic diarrhea. I did EVERYTHING that I could possibly think of to help them get over it. After many vet visits, bad diagnosis, and a few meds that didn't work, I was beside myself. Two of my kitties were so afflicted that their little tushies were red and inflamed (so would you if you'd been suffering diarrhea for several months!) They couldn't sit down, they couldn't move without leaking it, they were miserable and so was I. As a last ditch resort, and after trying a few other name brand probiotics for cats and dogs, I came across this little known gem. I saw that it had more cultures in it than the regular stuff and thought it certainly couldn't help to give it a go. After one day of this I saw a marked difference in their stool. After 3 days I had different kitties and after a week it was as if there'd never been any diarrhea! I'm a true convert and will never use another probiotic again. Ever! If you try this you'll never go back to anything else!
