They work for me. I don't have anything to compare them to, so I don't know how accurate they are, but these give me a ballpark idea of what my tank parameters are like. Overall I'm pleased with them. The only annoying thing is the color chart is inside the label not printed on the bottle. I've attached a photo, since it would be very easy for the chart to get ripped off and lost.

Have been using the strips for month or two and they work ok for a quick reading. I have compared the results with another brand test strip and the API master test kit. The only one that is really off for me is the nitrate which keeps coming up bright pink or 200 and the real level is 20. Not sure why it keeps doing this except maybe since my tank water is so hard? Not sure. I have tried the strips in other samples of water including spring water and distilled water. And it seems to work fine with those samples. I think for most causal fish keepers the strips should work fine but remember the strips are not as good as the liquid tests. I probably will not be buying these again since I always have to double check the nitrate level to be sure it's not really off the charts.

These test strips are good for getting an overview of a tanks status. Once you know your particular tank(s) well you know what the values should be and with these you can check several parameters at once quickly and easily. The price makes them economical enough to use regularly, rather than only testing when you suspect a problem. You may want to have more precise liquid test kits for monitoring things when making changes, or if these indicate a problem, but dip strips are handy and these have proved quite consistent and reasonably accurate.
These do not indicate the presence or level of ammonia, and I don't trust dip strips for that in any case. If ammonia may be an issue I suggest a good liquid test kit.

These test strips work fine for me. However, because the strips are highly reactive and require very little water volume to activate the reaction, you must keep them bone dry during storage, and be aware that ANY moisture in the air will effect the test results.

My method: (I only use these to test nitrate and alkalinity. If the alkalinity is good, I do not worry much.) Dip the strip in aquariums water for no more than 1 second, and immediately lay it down flat on a non-porous, clean surface (a piece of plastic or glass). Do not let the water from each square mix with other squares on the strip. Your reading will be most accurate between 45-60 seconds. Any more time and the reading is useless. IT will start pulling from the moisture in the air.

These strips are not useless, but you have to use them properly and store them carefully so the do net become contaminated.

I always rely on the test strip. First of all they are cheap and fast. In regard of several comment on the precision, I can tell that I also own a digital meter, and often time I get 3 different reading, but the color with the test tube is always the highest, and the strips is always the lowest. So my guess is that the color method will over estimate the reading, and the test strip will underestimate. I like it because you can dip the strip, and get the reading in a matter of 30 seconds. And decide if to change the water or not. That is what they use at the pet store to test your water in case you return a dead fish.
I enjoy this package for the 100 strips and extremely cheap. I also like to have the other information beside the nitrogen.
