Important Information

Ingredients

Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Olive Oil, Black Truffles, Black Truffle Flavor

Directions

Truffle Oil is a finishing Oil that should primarily be used to dress dishes just prior to serving. Its uses are infinite, but we recommend trying it initially with Risotto, Pasta, Pizza, Cooked Vegetables, Meat Carpaccio, Mushroom and Cheese or Egg based dishes. Truffle Oil can also be used as a cooking Oil, but it should not be overheated or cooked for prolonged periods at high temperatures, as this will destroy most of the Truffle flavor. For example, scrambled eggs will have a wonderful complex truffle flavor if cooked gently in Truffle Oil. Use sparingly, a bottle of this Oil goes a long long way.

This works great as a finishing oil for steak and to add more flavor to other dishes. I have previously only used actual truffles that I would cut up and place in dishes but this oil is much more convenient and tastes great. I will for sure be ordering this again.

I have to admit, this is my first time buying truffle oil, so I may be a bit misguided, but i LOVED how strong it was, smelled soooooo good, has a garlic-ish smell to it, but I think that may just be part of what comes with having truffle oil. The price is nice, and as a first time truffle oil buyer, I loved it! Amazing on french fries and other types of food... Good stuff! I highly recommend!

I love this black truffle oil and believe it is one of the best on the market. I ordered the authentic truffle oil from Oregon and perhaps because it is white truffle oil, hated it. I tossed it all and ordered more bottles of this buttery, wonderful oil that I use in everything. I put it in an oil mister and spritz air-popped popcorn, I add it to soups to add an incredible flavor to my low-sodium broths that is such an improvement I feel like a gourmet chef. I'm hooked. What a delicious way to add healthful olive oil to my family's diet.

Just so you realize what you are getting.

There is 0% truffle in this, zero, none.

What you are buying is an olive oil, with a lab-created chemical added to it.

No self-respecting chef would use this stuff.

I purchased this as a gift for my Stepfather who loves to cook gourmet food and was very surprised at the quality of the item and the packaging for gift presentation. I could actually see pieces of the truffle in the oil so I new this was not just some artificially flavored oil that was infused with the aroma of truffles. My only complaint is that I did not buy the white truffle oil too.

The oil has but one tiny sliver of truffle in it, but it lacks the synthetic taste a lot of them have. This would make a very good oil for
searing steak. Buying it in a smaller bottle is a good idea, as you will not use much of it when you use it. It arrived promptly and well packaged.

If I could give this truffle oil no stars I would. I've developed a love of truffles ever since returning from a trip to Italy last year. We picked up a few bottles of truffle oil but have used them all up unfortunately. Not wanting to go without I scoured the internet looking for a bottle with good reviews and took a chance on this one despite the negative comments from other reviewers. Let me just say that this oil doesn't live up to what I'm used to. It tasted very 'chemically'. I know truffle oils have flavoring which is essentially chemicals but the oils we bought in Italy didn't *taste* like chemicals - there was a nice, delicate balance between the olive oil and the truffle flavoring. This oil, however, gave the effect of downing kerosene or something similar. The smell and taste were overwhelming in a very bad way. I've since chucked the oil in the bin as I refuse to consume something that my senses clearly tell me not to use. Something's just not right with it....I'm still on the hunt for great Italian truffle oil.

I love this stuff. It's kind of pricey, but I suppose the product is as such. While I'm unsure if you can get it elsewhere cheaper, the hassle free of getting it here was a selling point. Moreover, I use such a small amount of this with cooking, and a little goes a long way. I enjoy eggs, and ever since I started topping them with this, it's just taken taken them to the stratosphere. Yikes. It's got a very strong taste that might not go with everything, but really helps a dish when it does. I'm definitely going to get more as soon as I start to get low.
