The putty was easy to work with. I strongly recommend wearing latex gloves and simply working the two putty halves together in your hands.

The working time was fairly long ... at least 15-20 minutes, maybe more. I've also worked with Bondo Wood Filler, which may provide a denser final putty, but its working time is really short, perhaps 5 minutes (and less if you're working in 90-degree heat!).

The advantages of this product are:
(1) ease of combining two epoxy ingredient halves (in your latex-gloved hands and, unlike Bondo, you can keep using the same gloves for multiple batches), and
(2) long working time

The disadvantages (compared to Bondo) are:
(1) costs about twice as much
(2) hardened filler may not be quite as dense
(3) this filler *expands* as it hardens, whereas Bondo volume stays about the same as it sets
(4) if you *want* quick hardening time, Bondo hardens more quickly

This putty product does a good job at rebuilding rotted wood. I used Minwax Wood Hardener to help solidify the rotted area, then when dry used this putty product to fill in the voids. I recommend that you mix only a small portion at a time - after several minutes it starts to harden up and that makes it difficult to work with. It does tend to stick to the putty knife so it does take some getting use to. I overbuilt the area and then used an electric sander to bring it back level. It does work well on vertical surfaces, unlike a traditional liquid epoxy product.

We had several storm windows on our 1926 house that needed repair. We had to repair them as they were curved and could not afford 10,000 for new windows! This stuff worked great for filling in the rotted wood and we now have nice storm windows o our sunroom. Great product!

This stuff is AWESOME!! I used it to repair rotted windows around my home. This stuff works wonderful if you use a little water when shaping it, it's just like clay!! After it dries, it sands really nicely.....cannot even tell there was an issue after you paint it. I used the JB weld wood hardener before I applied this stuff. Just make sure you get all of the rotted wood dug out before you use the hardener & epoxy. This stuff saved me thousands of dollars replacing windows, I even used it for repairing some of my trim that had some rot at the bottom.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!

I used this to repair damaged casement windows. It was very humid when I was doing this, so I had to wait longer for it to cure.

This stuff did a great job of filling holes, some very deep. I also had to recreate portions of the window where the rot had worked its way up the sides. Using this epoxy putty is like working with play-dough, very easy to use. I didn't do a perfect job, but it's good enough to keep the rot from continuing until I replace the window for good. Once it was hardened I chiseled and sanded until it looked right.

I used this in combination with the JB Weld 40001 liquid hardener.

Used this to fill in some rotten wood. Not the easiest stuff to use, you nave to mix ala bondo. The plastic gloves that are supplied were inadequate.
I had to use some heavier gloves. Dries rock hard.

Worked very well with the J-B Weld Wood Restore Liquid Hardener for an exterior column that began rotting due to water infiltration. By removing the softwood and coating the bare wood with the hardener and then filling in the missing wood with the epoxy. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to apply. After everything was cured, sanded, caulked, and painted, the column looks like new. Not bad for a non professional fixer upper.
