I bought these for someone who used the cardboard ones all the time. Not only do they hold up so much better, but she can write the floss number on it to make sure she knows what she needs when she runs out. The cardboard ones didn't last that long.

These sturdy plastic bobbins keep my thread box organized. They hold the thread pretty well so no more messy loose threads around! You can write the color number at the top and use the hole to keep them together with a metal ring if you wanted to. I would buy more but with 28 of them I have plenty!

Bobbins don't have a glamorous job - they hold the embroidery floss so it doesn't have to either stay in the skein or become a tangled mess. These DMC bobbins do a substandard job. My main complaint - the angled cuts on the end where the floss is to be secured once wound onto the body of the bobbin are too wide. The floss, which should become trapped and securely held in these slits, is not - rendering them rather useless and meaning that the ends start to unwind and/or get unruly.

I used to use a styrofoam paper plate and cut slits in it to store my embroidery thread. But by the time I was done with my project they were a mess. This is a much more convenient way to work with the thread and store it for quick easy access.

When I was a kid I bought boat-loads of embroidery floss for making friendship bracelets. Fast forward 10 years and I still have it all. I needed a way to organize them so I bought the clear case and some extra bobbins and it's perfect! Now they're all stashed away and organized. I like the plastic better than the cardboard because it's nice and sturdy and you can reuse them!

I prefer the plastic floss bobbins over the cardboard ones because they hold up better with regular use. I find it easier to write on these bobbins without smearing the ink.

Additionally, I use these bobbins to make washi tape samples for my friends. If you're looking for a way to send small amounts of decorative washi tape!

This item is fabulous. So much better than the old cardboard ones I used to use. These are not flimsy they will last for a long time to come. I recommend this product for organization of your embroidery floss or for cross stitching floss.
