For certain uses this tool seems to work well. For instance, if checking or setting an angle on a table saw blade it seems ok since you have a zero reference point to begin with (Table top). The bad about this tool is if you want to start at zero with no reference. There's no dedicated stop at absolute zero (A PRO and CON for me). You just line up both ends the best you can and calibrate that as zero. I have done this then taken out a few gauges that have machined 45 degree angles to test it's accuracy. Numbers were all over the board. Some as much as a few degrees. Gave me cause for concern as of it general accuracy but will update later if I find any major flaws. Drawing the angle slowly seems to bring better performance. Sometimes is was close enough for it's price.

Some issues of concern but not really. No "off/on" button but it seems to turn itself off with no activity. Found an easy solution to ensure long batter life after use. This is difficult to explain unless you have the tool but when done just press the protruding battery slide (easy) bottom and it will move the battery compartment slightly upward allowing it to disengage the battery from the tool. Battery saved until next use. Just push it down to reengage. Couldn't be simpler.

Another cheap digital tool to add to my growing collection BUT I must admit, with these cheap digital tools always comes questions of accuracy in real world use. As someone new to these types of tools, from here on out, I will will be purchasing high-end equipment as now I know what to look for.

Lesson: There simply is no cheap and dependable way to get real consistent accuracy. If you find yourself saying, "close enough for government work" often, and are looking for a digital angle tool, this may be it.

I suppose if you have no issues with a tool you have to give it 5 stars. To me the fact that this item did not have an "off" switch was disappointing, because every time it is used, it will stay on for 5 minutes after use before it goes off, wasting battery life. Very solid and very easy to use. The digital screen makes it really easy.. Great Product.

Well, I wanted a reasonably priced electronic angle widget and this fits the bill perfectly. The quality of the one I got is really quite good for the low cost. It is childs play to calibrate and seems to be much better accuracy than the rates 0.3 degs. Checking out my good squares and triangles and this provides the angles as dead on. Somone complained about the thing "changing readings as they tightened the nut"....Well, I just have the nut somewhat tight before I start and it maintains the angle with no issue and I don;t have to try and tighten it while using it. The only thing that I would have actually preferred is to have narrower legs, but then I guess the screen would be smaller and hard to see, so guess this is a good compromise. As for having to "let it turn itself off", well... I like that feature too. I burn a lot of batteries out uselessly with the laser I have on my drill press because it does not time out and turn off by itself and I seldom remember to turn it off when done. So, I am a happy camper with this tool and have been using it a lot since I got it.

Our package arrived on time and is as described. This tool is great, it works as it's intended to. We are getting ready to do some framing work along with some new trimming in our living room, so this gives us the exact angles we need for trimming around our doors.
It has a digital read that reads accurately, however there's no off button. It just shuts off on its own when it times out .No bother to me, but may be for others. If you want to ensure battery life, I'd suggest sliding the battery cover to loosen the battery just enough to turn it off. But as Much effort and time that takes, it's likely the digital reader will alreader be shut off.
Over all a great addition to the tools we already own and definitely comes in handy for precise angles!

Simple to use and very accurate. Seems durable, for the most part, but I'd be careful not to drop anything with any heft to it on the digital display, as it appears fairly fragile. I'd also avoid getting it wet.

I bought this because only one corner in my house is 90°. Now I only wish my miter saw would self-adjust to the angles needed. I would highly recommend also getting the longer version (16" ??) of this tool. I really could have used it since some walls are only bowed at the very end, and over a longer run of wall, the corner angle changes.

Another Great Protractor from General! This is built very well! I've had the 6" T digital protractor from general for 1-1/2 years now. I use it five days a week working on a brake press machine. I bought this one for those angles 135* and sharper. This five inch will reach with no problem! I think this one the way it's built will last for years also.

I was using this item to measure angles on very small things. The knob is very large and protruding and interfered with that somewhat. It is also not very easy to open/close gently, as even the loosest setting is fairly tight. Otherwise, it does its job. The digital display is very easy to read.
