I bought one of these to use for skype calls. I have it attached to the end of a 3ft headphone cable, so it's not attached directly to the computer, and it does a nice job of picking up my voice from several feet away. According to people on the other end of the call, audio quality is on par with cell phone audio. Some say it's a little better, some say it's a little worse, but either way they can hear me and the mike works fine.

I want to start by saying that I love this microphone. For what I use it for, motovlogging, it works absolute wonders and the sound quality is actually very good. It cuts wind noise while still picking up clear vocals and the engine noise from my bike, which is exactly how it should be.

I'm glad they come in pairs because after one month I'm one microphone down as the sensor separated from the flex arm, exposing two wires while I was riding (hey?! what's that burning smell?)

Seems to work fine on my laptop. Sometimes I need to lean closer to it when talking but that could be because I'm a soft speaker. My friends have reported that they hear me just fine on Skype. It definitely beats the built-in mic on my laptop.

I bought it for voice calls and it records better that I expected! I have been using it for a month and there haven't been any problems at all. Both microphones work well. They are not as flexible as I thought, but it might be a good thing. There is no chord between the plug and the microphone itself, so it may last a good amount of time. Very good price for better than decent quality microphones.

I would imagine that these work just fine in a laptop or desktop. However I have one mounted in each of my helmets that I use for my youtube channel. I also used a Labalier clip on powered mic for a while, and found the sound quality to be pretty close. the clip on mic was slightly better but having another battery to worry about as well as excess cableing made it less attractive.

This mic works great, sheild open or closed, and records flawelessly on my gopro.

No wonder you get two for the price of none! The response is so low, that you have to practically put the mic in your mouth and scream! tried it on a laptop and on a cellphone to no avail. Junk! Spend a little more and buy something of better quality!

So far so good, figured these would be disposable if they broke quickly. Have used them for skype with the grandparents and they have said it improved the sound quality and they can hear my toddler better than with the computer mic. Also gives my kids a "target" to talk to so I think that helps too.
