My dog is a 20 lb short-hair dachsund-beagle mix. I'd previously purchased the Bounce Grooming Kit from Petsmart to combat shedding in the house. This curry brush is much more effective.

The Bounce Grooming Kit was advertised for short hair breeds and came with a bristle brush and a slicker brush (metal wire brush), which is odd because slicker brushes are generally used for longer hair breeds. I used the slicker brush a couple times and it really irritates my dog. She is okay with the bristle brush, but the two combined did not pull nearly as much hair as I get from this curry brush.

Rubber curry brushes are much more effective at pulling out loose fur. You can see the fur piling up as you brush your dog. I try to brush the dog every day, and all the fur I brush off outside is fur that would have otherwise been left by my dog inside. From the looks of it, I've saved a lot of fur from being deposited inside my house. So, I'd highly recommend this brush. I'd also couple it with a bristle brush because this brush will loosen the shed fur, but you'll need a bristle brush to brush it off the dog.

As a dog groomer I prefer this for short coated breeds like Pugs, Pits, Dobermans, Dalmatians. It has a nice flexibility to it that allows you to easily get legs, ears, and all the curved areas of a dog's body. I do not care for the solid type, they just aren't as comfortable for me or the dog. These brushes last for years too, I bought this for a friend when they got their new mix breed. The handstrap makes it easier still to get every corner of the dog's body. Love this product!!

I bought this for my little short hair chihuahua. His hair is so silky the other brushes just slide over and never pict/remove the hairs. The first time I used this I had a mount of hair, being that this was the first time for the little guy he did really well staying put. The second time I only had a bit of hair. So its clear that this thing works beyond what I was expecting.

I brush his hair really well, then clean house so i can get rid of all the little hairs. I am good for about a week before doing it again.

I have toy fox terriers and they shed alot. I have tried many different brushes and this one works the best for me,they even seem to like being brushed. The only thing is that the hair is kind of hard to get out of the rubber brush,but I had that with every brush i tried. I would recommend this brush for shorthaired dogs

I've only used this once so far since it came in a few days ago. Our American Bulldog has very short hair and it is overtaking our house. The product works well in grabbing onto the dead hairs but it's a job definitely to be done outdoors- I did it on our deck. The hairs that don't stick fly everywhere. Then how does one clean it really? I just picked as much hair as I could off it and left what I couldn't pick off.
Overall works well and it's the only way to go with short coat. The FURMinator worked decent but Our dog hated it. Then I read it may hurt the skin as well so I immediately ordered this.

I have a similar attachment for the vacuum and it gets the hairs off the car seats or sofa.

My dog sheds like you would not believe. Hair everywhere. It is the worst to be snuggled up with the dog, suck in a huge breath and with it come five or six dog hairs. This little gem helps... a LOT. But, you have to be consistent at brushing regularly or let the "hair in the mouth" gagging begin. My dog loves it, he can't get enough. The hair just falls off of him.

sucks!! All the hair just sticks to it. Don't waste your time. The plastic brush with the skinny metal bristles at the pets stores is the best. I have something similar to the herminator and that is a waste also.
