Color: Salmon Egg Red Verified Purchase
I've used Berkley Power Eggs quite a lot for trout. I found them to stay on the hook really good, but other Berkley baits caught more trout for me. I recently bought some of these in red with garlic because I'd never tried either the red color or the garlic in the Power Eggs. I went trout fishing yesterday and tried 4 different baits on 4 different rods bottom fishing in a reservoir just to see how these eggs would catch trout compared to my 3 favorites when put in the water right beside them. I caught 4 Rainbow in the 13" range with this product and 0 trout on the other 3. The bite has been slow in this reservoir this winter for some reason, but these eggs caught fish on a day when nothing else worked. Good enough for me!

Color: Fluorescent Orange Verified Purchase
Deep bright Orange color and very soft and squishy just the right size for a No. 2 Trout hook. Easy to hook and they stay on when casting. The trout swallow these so some times the hook is deep in its gullet.

Haven,t used these yet this fall but have used them in the past and they work good depending on what the fish are biting on that day.. I keep these and a variety of Power Eggs in my tackle box and like them because they work and stay on the hook.. I have caught several trout on the first couple of eggs I put on so they,re economical too!!

Pro: easy to install it on the hook, clean

Con: Could be my luck with weather and the condition but didn't catch anything.

I think i dont have enough data to say if these works or not. I had high hopes from the other reviews but didn't catch anything. Will try again and update the review.

At first I thought this bait was junk. I like fishing with salmon eggs. This bait looks like small pieces of round sponge. I continued to use my salmon eggs and thought I would give it a try. With the second cast I had hooked into a nice trout. When I got the fish in I noticed my bait was still usable. I released that fish and caught 2 more from the same egg. So I am now sold on this bait from Berkley. Will buy it again and try to get some different colors.

Color: Salmon Egg Red Verified Purchase
These eggs are steady producers, and are so much easier (and cleaner) to use than the doughy powerbait.

Recently caught a hefty stringer of rainbow trout using a single egg hook, 2 of these eggs connected, both through the hook, and a thin live red wiggler worm. The two eggs have more than enough flotation to pull themselves, the hook, worm, and 4 lb test off the bottom. The white version of these eggs was also working well that day for a buddy. Dough powerbait did not work for some reason that day.

The scent really draws in trout in a still water environment. In a creek or stream, I believe real salmon eggs work better, you don't really need the flotation aspect in a creek anyway. Wild trout respond better to real salmon eggs in my experience.

The best part is that you can just barely hook these eggs, and they will still stay on the hook, they are made out of sufficiently tough material. If you're going fishing in a stocked pond, lake, or reservoir, this product can make the difference between a full stringer and going home with a big bagel.

I swear by the white garlic power eggs. If there are trout around, they will bite. Two eggs will float a small trout hook with up to six pound test. I like to use a gang hook set-up with 4 pound test and about 14 inches of leader followed by a barrel swivel and a 1/4 ounce egg sinker. My skillet is always full of trout.

I tried over 5 different kinds of Powerbait and wasn't catching a thing. Not even a bite. The guy next to me was catching fish left and right. In two hours time he's ready to pack up and go home while I was still waiting for a bite. He feels sorry for me, brings over a few of these and says to give em a try. I thank him, put a couple on my treble hook and cast my line. 15 minutes later BAM, I've got a nice big trout on my line. It wasn't long before I had three nice sized fish. I was happy and was able to enjoy fresh trout for dinner. Need I say more? To that nice gentleman who gave me these, if you're reading this, thank you!
