We looked over many different coffee makers and read all of the reviews, and although this had a couple of negative reviews, we decided to give it a try anyway. We have been using this coffee maker for 30 days now, and I do not know why people gave this anything under 5 star, as it is perfection!!! I see someone wrote "The carafe drips all over the place when you pour a cup".. this is NOT true. It does not drip at all! It does NOT drip onto the heating element at all, like our last coffee maker. The timer is excellant.. you set it, and you're done. When you want to activate the timer for making coffee for the next morning, you just push the button, and it then glows, showing you that it'll brew at the time your originally set it for. The other button is if you just want to make a pot at random, and you push it to turn it on. (It then glows, to show it's on) We haven't had any problems with it over heating, leaking, dripping.. just no problems what so ever.

I have been using this Proctor Silex coffee maker for 2 weeks now on a daily basis. Easy to use and clean. Makes a very good hot cup of coffee. Previously had a Proctor Silex coffee maker for 12 years, reason bought another Proctor Silex. Price is reasonable and has the features I was looking for, not too many, less to go wrong. Turns off in 2 hours, easy to add water and coffee, set for 1-4 cups. I am very happy with this coffee maker and all my purchases from Amazon.com.

It has been a long time since I had to buy a coffee pot. Like decades!! So, I was very surprized at how expensive they've gotten. I'm not a coffee snob, but don't like the gross coffee out of a vending machine either. This was the cheapest coffee pot on Amazon at time of purchase, 17.99. The digital display is bright and buttons are nice and solid. The way the basket full of coffee sets in the machine is odd. It sits solid when crafe is not in it, but once you push the pot in, it pops up a bit because of the hold feature to pour while brewing. I've used this for a week, and although I've half expected to come out of slumber land and find a huge, hot, steamy mess, but its worked fine. The way the 'water-arm' needs to be swung over the coffee grounds holder is odd. I can see that being a weak link. It brews a bit slow, but just set the timer a bit earlier than your wake-up time. For $18, I hope it lasts a year.

I'm not a coffee snob. When I needed a replacement, all I wanted was a reasonably priced Plain Jane programmable coffee maker that used inexpensive, readily available cupcake shaped filters. The Proctor Silex 43672 was a match made in heaven.

It brews a fine pot of coffee...Has a fool proof pouring spout...Keeps it reasonably warm for 2 hours...and...The movable brewing arm locks the basket in place keeping grounds out of the pot.

I am so pleased with this inexpensive coffee maker that I purchased a duplicate as a back up.

Buying a good coffee maker has been a challenge for us for over a decade so I was excited when I read all the great reviews of this product and the fantastic price. But we don't like it.
* What it calls a "cup" is far smaller than most other coffee makers we have had. For instance 10 or 11 brewed cups of coffee in this machine is the equivalent volume of 8 brewed cups in our old machines.
* We need to use slightly more beans than our old machines to get the same strength coffee.
* The lid cannot be removed from the carafe which makes cleaning and drying the carafe difficult (and forget putting it in the dishwasher).
* The cup gauge/markings on the side of the carafe don't measure the same volume as those on the reservoir. In other words, I measured 8 cups of water in the carafe, and when I poured it into the machine, the reservoir measured 9 cups.

My old $12 pot died a much deserved death and I needed another coffee maker ASAP! This is a good price for a decent maker. Had it out of the box and set up making coffee in about 5 minutes. Coffee took about 7 minutes to brew, nice and hot, no problems. We are pretty rural so to get a pot ordered and received in 2 days is wonderful!

I bought this as we needed a quick replacement pot. This works perfectly well. What others have said about getting a full 12 cup pot are accurate. We had to practice how much water to put in to get the number of cups the markings read. That "don't fill above line" doesn't work here if you want a full pot. My husband took to filling it up & gauging the water as he poured it in & that's how we got a full pot. If you want 8 cups by carafe fill the water well to 10 or so. I'd read the prior reviews before buying so I was aware that was a bit of an issue so thanks to prior reviewers! Overall though, it's a sufficient & adequate pot. Brews quickly, quietly & very hot.

I have a french press but I've gotten tired of dealing with the grounds every day. I'm the only one that drinks coffee so I was looking for a smaller coffee maker and settled on this one because it had the 1-4 cup feature. The only thing I don't like about it so far after a week or so is the temperature of the coffee. I was always mystified when people complained about coffee not being hot on coffee makers, how hot did they want it? Boiling ? Well, after you add a little creamer to this, your coffee is just a little above lukewarm. The problem with that is, the coffee is cold within ten minutes. If I want hot coffee, I need to warm the water a little in my electric tea kettle, as I use filtered water. I like using the program feature which works reliably, but when I start with only room temperature coffee the coffee isn't hot. I've been adding the filtered water at night and using the timer start in the morning, so the water starts room temperature.

If you add water to the 4 cup mark inside the coffee maker if gives you 2 normal sized cups of coffee, and it would probably fill one thermos.

EDIT - I've returned this item, I don't know if I received a defective appliance or if it's a problem across the line, but the coffee seems to be less hot everyday. I really liked the size, and the features it offered.
