I've been wanting to buy a cheap violin to attempt to learn how to play violin. I did a lot of shopping around for a good price/quality ratio and this seemed like it would be best. I chose the super saver shipping which goes through OnTrac (for me, living in CA) and the delivery day was more than a week away. I ordered the violin around 2am, it shipped around 4:30pm that same day, and I received the violin at my door around 2pm the next day, so I was very happy with shipping.
I opened the box and took out the case. I was pleased to see the violin has a nicer color than I was expecting. It's not a glittery sparkle, but more of a nice metal dusted paint.

the violin does tune and keep its tune. the pegs don't slip on me if I push them in as I turn, so that's good. The bow seems good although there were a couple broken strands. The rosin seems to be much better quality than what the other cheap violins send with it, although I have never used another rosin, so that may be wrong. this doesn't seem to be a "VSO" (violin shaped object)like how many others seem to be. I've already seen progress and I've only had it for a few days with a total playing time of around 30 to 40 mins. I'd recommend this to anyone interested in violin with a few bucks to spare. Again, I'm not a professional and I've never owned another violin, so I'm basing this on what I've read and my impression from it.

The case it comes in is also very nice. It's light, fits the violin very snug, has two bow holders as well as a compartment for rosin, tuners, etc. There is also a pocket on the front big enough for sheet music, but you can put other things in there.

I ordered this violin recently, as a holiday gift for my son. It arrived today, and I am (so far) very satisfied.

A previous reviewer complained about a lack of bridge. The violin is packaged for shipping without the bridge installed, in order to prevent damage to the strings. My bridge was wrapped in tissue paper, and tucked under the fine tuners on the tailpiece. The included bridge was appropriately shaved, with notches for the A and E strings and pencil marks for G and D. Installation is simple - simply stand the bridge up under the strings. Even a very rough tuning is plenty to hold it in place. Obviously, if you can't find a bridge in the case, you should contact Amazon's customer service or the manufacturer.

On other fronts, I am pleased with the instrument. Tuning pegs are easy to turn, but don't slip, and sound quality is quite good considering the size and price. We'll have a great time with it.

I am a professional violin player and have been an orchestra/private teacher for over 12 years. I purchased this for my son who will turn 3 very soon. It is NOT a toy violin, as some reviewers say. People who purchase violins this size should NEVER be expect to hear (or feel, for that matter) comparable quality to a full (4/4) size violin. Even an extremely junky full size will sound louder and more full of tone than one of these. But that's just the how physics of the instrument work.

I am quite impressed with this one. Out of the case, I love the look, but beyond vanity, I was able to tune it with no problems and then play on it with it losing its tuning. Good start! I have seen only a couple 1/10 violins and dozens of 1/8 & 1/4 size violins (which are supposed to produce more sound by laws of physics). I tuned them daily, adjusted bridges, restrung, sanded pegs, and never been quite as impressed with any as with this (smaller) one.

After a couple minutes of test play on each string, I found it extremely easy to navigate. On many violins, the strings are set to too even heights on the bridge (if the bridge has been poorly cut to match the contours of the fingerboard), and it is extremely difficult to bow on one string at a time, therefore causing extreme frustration for the child.

Also, surprisingly, the open string tones were quite loud (compared to most I've worked with) and nowhere near as nasal as many other brands I've seen (ie. Suzuki, Knilling, Cecelio, Mueller, and more I can't remember) . Yes, perhaps there are better brands out there in this size, but for the price, (and the likely hood of it being useful for less than a year), I would certainly recommend it to my new students. Should the next year of lessons with my child on this instrument change my mind, I will revise my current review.

I bought this "fiddle" for my wife for Christmas. She is interested in learning a new instrument (she is a guitarist). I took a chance on this instrument and was I pleased when it came! It is very nicely made, came in a great, light case with the bow and rosin. We took it to the woman who is teaching her and she said it was very nice and when she played it I was blown away by the loud sweet tone. It is perfect to learn on and once you move up, it makes a good back-up.
Go ahead and buy this for the beginner...you won't be sorry.

I took delivery of this CV-75 Cremona Violin and opened the shipping box. What I found was more than I expected. I would have paid this amount just for the case! The violin is gorgeous, had all parts including rosin and bridge. I have never owed a Violin, but I do play the guitar and banjo among other instruments. So, as a novice (zero experience with a violin) it took me approximatly 3 minutes to properly install the bridge, and an additional several minutes to rosin the bow. Not Rocket Science! Now, tuning is another story! Takes time...I recommend that you purchase a $4 pitch pipe for a violin and have a bit of patience. If not, I took my violin to a local music store and the boss tuned it and checked it out, for no charge...nice guy! Of course he stated that it was a low end instrument and when I am ready he will sell me a new one for many hundreds of dollars. Oh well bottom line, GREAT DEAL and quality! Go buy one!
