I love Dansk products, but I often take a step back when ordering to ponder the value behind the price. I have always found that the product is deserving of the reputation that Dansk presents, and this is no exception. The bowl looks as if it would not hold a generous salad, but this is deceiving. It's depth is generous. The smaller circumference at the lip makes it quite easy to toss a large salad without spilling. The wood is quite lovely and smooth. The proportions are so pleasing that I leave the bowl out between salads to serve as an accent.

This is the most beautiful wooden bowl. I use this all the time, not just for special occasions. This bowl is easy to use, I place my oil and vinegar in the bottom of the bowl. I almost always use a little mustard, lemon, salt and pepper with the oil and vinegar moisture. I place trees on top of the oil, other veggies, cheese and nuts and then toss the salad.

Somehow, the salad tastes better, more delicious in this bowl. I leave the bowl on my counter. It is a gorgeous color and brightens up the light wood counter.

Dansk has always been a provider of the best products, and it continues.

We just retired a wood salad bowl after about 20 years of almost-daily use... the wood rim had become somewhat stained with mildew, I think, and despite sanding it and trying to keep it clean, it looked like a lab experiment.

There are several less expensive salad bowls available on Amazon than this one and I had one in my basket, almost checked out, when I went back and read the reviews... they were awful! I decided on this more expensive one, reasoning that that the extra money over the 20 year life of a good salad bowl really amounted to pennies per month.

This is one gorgeous salad bowl. I'm happy with the size - it's just me and my wife now - but the bowl is large enough for six to eight adults, easy. The wood grain is handsome and one more thing that isn't easily seen in the photo: the rim of the bowl is at an angle. This may not seem like a big deal - but my wife often puts the bowl upside down on the counter after washing it. THIS is what led to the mildew on the old salad bowl - the whole top of the salad bowl would absorb water and ultimately start to mildew. This Dansk bowl, due to the limited surface area of the top of the bowl, is less likely to do that.

It's beautiful hence the 2 stars. But it leaks. I sent the first one back thinking it was a one off defect, the second one arrived and it also leaks. Perhaps a bad batch. Quite a shame because it's really great looking. I'm going to try another brand. Likely just my bad luck based on others positive reviews.

Not sure how to rate this. Gave it a 3 star, because it was a beautiful bowl, but I had to return it because it arrived split down one side. It was well packaged with no damage to the box, Perhaps it was because other items were included in the box (salad servers and individual salad bowls. However, the other items were all boxed well too. I decided on another bowl to replace it. (Lipper International Large Cherry Wavy Rim Bowl with Salad Hands). BTW I also had ordered the Dansk servers, thinking they would match this Dansk bowl. The servers did not match even through they were also Acacia, and they were not of the fine quality that I normally associate with Dansk. So I returned those also.

I gave it a four star, but it arrived with a sharp cut on the outside down one side. I am keeping it, but its a shame that packaging would do this to such a nice piece.
Its light weight, and feels good. I hope oiling it on the cut side will hide the imperfection.
