Why Is Destructive Chewing a Problem?
Dogs have definite preferences when it comes to items they enjoy chewing: brand-new things, expensive things, irreplaceable things, and dangerous things that could hurt them seem to always be at the top of their list. When I received this toy on October 3rd, I thought how great it was. My 30# Puggle loved it, and it seemed durable. The first red piece was chewed off on the 5th, followed by the white knobby piece on the 6th. IF I give the toy back to her, it will be under strict supervision. Any more chewed off parts and it goes in the trash. I have a picture of it, but not a video, so I can't seem to download the picture.

My dog loves this bone! We are on our second souper double bacon bone. The first one has been around for 8 months of daily non-stop chewing. Amazingly it is not actually destroyed but instead so rough from chewing that I have stepped on it in the night and walked away with a bloody toe. I figured it was time to replace it and maybe keep the thoroughly used one around as a reserve in case my dog loses her most beloved possession of all time!

My bullmastiff and two bulldogs love these toys. I purchased two when the bulldogs were young and teething. The dogs can easily hold them with their paws and chew on the ends. They have lasted almost a year and are played with almost daily. The bones have now reached the end of their lifespan as the dogs have finally managed to start chewing off the white ends so they are headed to the trash, but considering that my dogs can destroy most toys within hours and these have lasted almost a year I believe they have definitely been well worth the money.
