I bought an onion saver for myself a couple of years ago and I LOVE it. It really does contain that onion smell, so your refrigerated food doesn't absorb the taste. Also, my onions are no longer slimy in plastic bags. These savers keep my onions fresh for longer and then keep them dry, so they don't spoil. I bought this one for my sister-in-law. They really work well! I would suggest thought that you hand wash it though, so you don't get a residue on the outside from dish washers that will make it more difficult to open and close. Great product!

I don't usually write reviews of the items I have bought (here on Amazon or elsewhere, for that matter), but after reading the reviews on this item, all I can say is IT WORKS JUST AS STATED IN THE ABOVE AD BY THE MANUFACTURES and I couldn't be more satisfied! I have bought many things from, here on Amazon or elsewhere, and always read the reviews and I will say NOT ONCE has the item I purchased ever been a disappointment...so not only is "the beauty in the eyes of the beholder" but also "the usefulness of the item is in the hands of the user." I have had cut red and white onions in my frig over a week at a time and I am impressed with the crisp, newness look and taste of the onion, and more important, my frig DOES NOT SMALL LIKE ONION!

I was looking for an onion saver and the reviews for this one were quite good.

I'm glad I made this choice, it keeps onions fresh for over a week (10 days is the most it has taken me to finish one) and looks great in my fridge (I chose the red one).

It's really easy to open/close and keeps onion odor away from all other items in the fridge. It's size allows for big onions to fit nicely in it. It has a small grid in the bottom that keeps the onion a just barely above from the bottom and I guess this helps keeping the onion fresh for longer periods.

It tends to concentrate some water drops of the lid (like any closed container I put on the fridge) and I dry those drops away each time before closing it again -this always helps keeping food longer-.

Very easy to clean and dry.

I've spent my adult life storing half an onion in ziplock bags or plastic wrap. I feel pretty silly, this thing is so handy and I like not adding more plastic to the garbage. I would suggest they add something grippy along the seam so it is easier to open with wet hands.

Yep, I give this 5 stars because I have a drawer full of salad makings in my frig and this is the best thingamajig that I have ever seen for making life easy when you are looking through a crowded drawer for a yellow onion. I like it so much that next birthday I am giving myself a White Onion Capsule. I recommend these to everyone that eats onions, and don't forget you can also buy a Tomatoe Capsule, an Avocado Capsule, and Yellow, Green, and Red Pepper Capsules. Now if they only made one large enough to hold a head of lettuce, Oh yes, they are easy to wash, and you can store them even when they are empty right back in the frig where they belong.

I love this onion keeper, and it's large enough to hold the largest onions. My only problem with it is I have weak hands and it is sometimes difficult to open and close, especially for someone with small hands. I have a lemon keeper and tomato keeper, too, and I never have trouble with either of those. I think the design is different to keep the odor locked in, and that makes it more difficult to open, especially if my hands are the least bit damp or if it didn't line up exactly straight while being closed. But I manage to open it eventually, and I will buy another one if anything ever happens to this one.

I always seem to have pieces of onion left over. I purchased this hoping it would help keep the onions for a longer period of time. It seems to contain the odor (a big plus), but I can't say the onions last longer. I go to get a piece and it's way past it's life.

Excellent onion saver - it keeps onions fresh for up to a week, and prevents their all-pervading smell from spreading in the fridge. It can accommodate large onions, it's easy to open and close, and also to wash. I got the red one and it looks beautiful in the fridge, not to mention that it's easy to spot and helps keep food organized. It looks durable and I think it will last a long time, and will save me a bunch of plastic bags while doing a much better job at preserving freshness.
