I ordered this because I volunteer at the animal shelter and work with the cats. When the cats are fed wet food, it is put into this type of food tray (a larger size than this one) and I thought what an easy way to clean up a cat bowl that had wet food in it. Wet cat food can get really gross and crusty, causing it a pain in the booty to wash off. This size is purrfect for my cat. I do not feed him a whole can at one time, he gets a small amount in the morning in addition to his dry food. This small tray could hold a whole can of cat food, saving you money by purchasing this size instead of the more expensive and smaller quantity, larger size. Please note, this is similar to a paper plate quality and when a paper plate gets wet, it soaks through. So if you have concerns about the potential for the wet food soaking through, get a placemat for your cat's food if you don't have one and put this on the placemat. Clean up is a snap! My cat thanks me.

I shopped around for these and while I didn't need 500 trays, I couldn't bring myself to spend just a couple of dollars less for 250, or about 2/3 of the price for 100 (or fewer).
These work out to about $0.16 a piece, which is more or less on par with paper plates (yes, cheapo paper plates cost less, but you would have to double them up).
What is great about these is the raised sides give you an edge to push against with your spoon or fork. The raised sides and corners also create structural strength, so while the material is thin and the overall tray weight is light, they are capable of securely holding a lot of food.
Since we had so many more than we needed (for a themed birthday party), we've been using them when making nachos. This is when I realized how useful the raised sides are while scooping up chips and toppings.
I don't think you'd want to put soup in them, but they'd probably be ok for serving up chili.
Maybe I was born to be a carny, but I really have fun eating out of them.

I volunteer at a cat shelter, and we were looking to cut down on the number of dishes we had to do after every shift. All cats get supplement powders delivered to them in some wet food daily, and these are the perfect size for up to an entire small can of canned food.

As for people food, these are SMALL. Think snack size -- maybe even snacks for small kids. This would not even hold a regular sized sandwich. They would be great for a small portion of french fries, some carrot/celery sticks for kids, a portion of cole slaw (or whatever), some berries or grapes, or maybe 4-6 chicken nuggets with a little space for dip. Do not get these expecting them to hold a hot dog or burger or entire sandwich, it isn't going to happen. For small snacks though, these could be handy.

The quality seems good and the price is great for a thousand of these little guys. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this purchase.

I have 9 cats at home. I feed them wet food at night and wet food is something they look forward to everyday. In addition I feed 6 homeless cats also wet food at night (in addition to the dry food that is available to them during the day). I have small white ceramic dishes that I have been using for several months. They work great except for the cleaning hassle. I hate doing dishes.

I bought this thinking I could free myself from the cleanup hassle and I am a little disappointed. The problem is the paper dish does not stay in one place. It keeps moving as the cats are enjoying their wet food feast. They often end up 3 feet away from where they started. Also, my kitties are not able to lick the dish clean as they do with the ceramic dishes.

The product is great but it did not serve the purpose that I intended. Hence I am a little disappointed.

I bought these to help cut down with the dishes involved with feeding two raw fed companions; within a day or two I was finding all kind of uses for them. When baking I used one to hold the cracked eggs. I used them as a bowl for my pretzels as a snack - a good portion size! As a spoon rest, container for used bacon grease, mixing bowl for making a small portion of mayo/ketchup dressing aka "fry sauce".... and the list keeps growing. With a thousand trays in the box I'll be surprised if I don't wind up with nearly a thousand uses.

This was a great purchase and I'm pleased to recommend them!
