We have a 10 yr old mut, great dane/boxer mix. Ginger has had arthritis in her rear end for a couple years now, just keeps getting a little worse each day. We've tried 3 or 4 different types of glucosamine/chondroitin and they all helped but she still had issues. Sore when getting up and slow moving. Started this just about a month ago. She's large, 110 lbs. and i started her on 4 tablets every day for the first 2 weeks and cut back to 3 tablets daily. Within the first 2 weeks she's still a little sore at night but nothing like it was before, i was beginning to think i was going to have to start picking her up. now she's up and moving on her own. The last 2 weeks, 4 weeks into using this.....i have a whole new dog. When i come home at night she's not just pulling herself off the couch wiggling to greet me she jumping and wiggling and her old moving excited self to see me. She's goes out in the yard now not just to do her business but to run around and jump and check out the yard going ons. What a change, we will keep using this item over and over.

I have three "puppies" ages 5, 8 and 11. Vet said to start glucosamine when they were five to help ward off arthritis. My "orthopod" put me on this regimen even before total hip replacements...must be good for our furry friends as well, I'd say. Stage 2 adds MSM which has also been determined of value to people...a bit more expensive, but not prohibitive. There is no "proof" that this vitamin actually "works"...but in general doctors recommend it! Can't hurt and will hopefully help!

I have 3 old dogs, all are between 8 and 10 years old. I have been giving them 1 or 2 tablets of these per day, based on their size and it seems to be helping their old joints.

One of my dogs was abused as a puppy and always had problems walking comfortably since we rescued her. It was always her back legs & hip area, they seemed stiff and sore. Sometimes it seemed to flare up worse than others, but now that she is old, it is a consistent issue. Now that she is getting this Glucosamine regularly, it seems to help her walking and also helps her getting up from bed.

My dogs happily eat these out of their food like candy. I noticed a slight improvement in their joints when they first started taking them but have not noticed anything significant since then. I continue to give it to them to support their joints but think something stronger would be required if one of them had a serious mobility issue or was recovering from surgery.

My heavy 8-year collie had an injury, so per my local pet store's suggestion, I tried giving her a Glucosamine supplement, in addition to cutting back on my dog's food portion a little. It was great, but it was a low dosage, and I had to give my dog 4-6 tablets a day (recommended for her weight). It seemed to work well, but to see if I was just imagining the improvement, I stopped giving the tablets for about a day and a half as a test. My dog slowed down a lot and seemed less comfortable. So decided to keep giving her the tablets, but tried to find a more economical source. I found this Naturvet alternative to what I bought at my local store - it has a higher dosage than the first brand I tried, so I only have to give my dog 1 or 2 per day, plus it has other beneficial ingredients for a fraction of the cost. It's been about 6-months now and my dog is active, healthy and happy again. I know my dog's slight weight loss (-5lbs) was also a contributing factor to her improved health - less weight on her aging joints. She acts like a puppy and is almost as active as when she was young. The tablets were also easy to give her - my dog thinks they are scheduled treats, and reminds me when I forget to give them to her. I'll be placing a another order soon.
