I am a physician and I have always had a problem falling asleep, and staying asleep. I have tried different Melatonin products a half a dozen times in the past and none have been helpful. But this one works! My guess, as to why it works and the others haven't, is because of the combined effect of the Melatonin and the Theanine together.

PS If it doesn't seem to work ask your personal physician if it would be safe for you to take two at bedtime, and possibly to also take a Motrin or Tylenol tablet at the same time.

PSS: This medication has also had another interesting side effect on me. And that is, that it decreases my desire to smoke. My guess is that, since I am getting a better night's sleep, I don't need the neuro-sedative effect of the nicotine. But I am only a surgeon, a good family doctor or internist should be able to explain that positive side effect better than I .

I actually bought this by accident not realizing it was not just plain Melatonin. This product also contains L-Theanine. Regular Melatonin has not worked well for me in the past but for some reason this works REALLY well. I sleep throughout the night like a baby and do not really wake up, if I do it is easy to get back to sleep. As an added bonus I no longer wake up from having a scary dream and I no longer get night time panic attacks which I used to get now and then. Dreams just do not bother me no matter what they are about any more so i get WAY more restful sleep. The most interesting part is I took it two days in a row and the third and fourth day I did not take it and I still slept the same way. It feels like it continues to work by making you "remember" how to sleep properly. I really only need to take these 2 - 3x a week. The taste of this product is also really pleasing. It tastes just like real strawberries and dissolves in your mouth quickly without water.

This rapid dissolve tablet works quickly. It has an added herb for calming, which helps the mind to settle down. I have used this with my children (with the sleep doctor's ok), and many of their sleep issues have subsided. If you have poor "sleep hygiene," then this may not work as well for you. The flavor is acceptable to my children (they don't complain about taking it).

This is my favorite of all the melatonin products I have tried before. I have been purchasing Natrol Advanced Melatonin Calm Sleep (Plus Sleep Aid) for a few years. My reasons for giving a 5-star rating:

Positives:
* Very helpful with getting to sleep (as long as you're where you plan to be for sleep)
* Aids in getting a restful sleep
* Easy to take meltaway tab that does just that...melts away pretty quickly after it's in your mouth
* Can easily be divided for lower doses
* Can be taken by a wide age range

Negatives...or more neutrals...just things to be noted:
* Begin with divided meltaway tabs and add gradually to get the perfect dose for you
* Be sure you take with about eight hours to sleep - this will prevent feeling groggy and dragging when you wake rather than well rested
* Be aware, information is shared through research showing some people may have vivid dreams or nightmares with doses too high for them - another reason to begin with divided tabs. You may find 1/4 tab is perfect, but 1/2 is too much, as we did with my daughter...as well as much of my family. However, you may try 1/4...1/2...3/4...and achieve optimal results until you're taking one full meltaway tab, as I most often do.
* It isn't the neatest tab to divide, but I feel like that is a given being a meltaway tab.

This is an amazingly helpful product that works with your body's natural chemistry unlike many sleep medications. In fact, I have it on subscription ordering. I highly recommend Natrol Advanced Melatonin Calm Sleep!

Going to bed was a challange, they were tired but could not wind down, " my mind goes crazy and won't stop " said the 7 yr old, on the reccomendation of an rn we tried these 5 min before bedtime, both boys climbed in and were asleep right away, slept well and wide awake the next day. They ask for them if they know they are "wired" makes such a difference in getting a good rest and waking in a great mood... no side effects

This has been on my subscribe and save for several months, my newest bottle just arrived and I took it for the first time tonight. As soon as I put it in my mouth I knew something about it had changed because the taste was very different, I quickly read the bottle and spit the tablet out. This used to be a gluten free and soy free product but the formula changed significantly and it now contains wheat and soy. So if you must avoid wheat or soy be aware that the bottle you receive may not be safe for you to take. I am very upset by this because I had really liked this product and I'm disappointed that a change like this has been made. This has been a hard reminder that product labels must be read every time no matter how long I've used a product safely. I personally am allergic to wheat but I know many others could be allergic to the addition of soy to this product. Other than the change to the ingredients list the packaging of the new product is not visually different from the previous formula.

The ingredients of the product received on December 31, 2013 are:
Xylitol, Cellulose Gum, Natural Flavor System (Strawberry), Soy Polysaccharides, PVP, Beet Root Powder, Malic Acid, Silica, Stearic Acid, Magnesium Stearate, Citric Acid, Maltodextrin, Modified Food Starch.

NO Milk, Egg, Fish, Crustacean Shellfish, Tree Nuts, Peanuts, Yeast, Artificial Colors, Flavors or Preservatives

CONTAINS Wheat and Soybeans
