While I don't love this mouse, it's a very functional basic mouse that gets the job done. The buttons have a good clicky feel, and the scroll wheel is smooth. There is a slight rubber-like coating to the top surface of the mouse that can help with grip.
I also bought the Kensington K72356US Mouse-in-a-Box, which has actually taken over as my daily go-to mouse. I've relegated the Amazon mouse to the spare computer for one reason - front to back, the body of the Amazon Basics mouse is a little shorter than I prefer. If you have small hands, this may be a plus.

It's hard to rise to poetic heights when writing a review of a mouse. You can spend a goodly chunk of change for a Logitech or Apple mouse. They're nice to look at, but functionally not really any different. So you just want an optical mouse with left/right buttons and a wheel (which is also a button). This one will do the job. For some time, Amazon has provided a number of products that inhabit the 'add-on' world. These are the things you buy when you purchase a camera (memory cards), a TV (cables) or a computer (mouse/keyboard). These are typically the places where the unwary customer gets nailed with inflated prices. To their credit, Amazon makes these inexpensive alternatives available. They work fine at a fraction of the price. I have no complaints with this mouse, and I really can't tell it apart from others that cost twice as much.

Bought this mouse to replace an old and well-used HP mouse. The qualities of the mouse are; it's simple, basic, clean-design, comfortable in my hand... but best of all, it's cheap!

This is not a Logitech gaming mouse so don't expect that level of awesomeness, but similarly don't expect to pay the 30-40 bucks for one either!

The price of this mouse is by and far it's highlight, yet the adage of "you get what you paid for" doesn't entirely apply as the mouse is fully function and far removed from some low-quality, gonna-break-apart-after-a-day product.

Need a basic, cheap mouse for your computing needs? Well, you found it.

Note: Amazon has combined 2 different products into this one description page. I am reviewing the wired mouse. I have no experience with the wireless mouse, which may be completely different.

Computer mice come in lots of different sizes and have lots of different features. The cheap basic mice usually have poorer resolution (fine for general office use, but not for computer graphics or gaming) and fewer controls. Still, the cheaper mice do come in lots of different sizes. You would be wise to try them out in a store to see what is comfortable for you.

This Amazon mouse is pretty small for a full-time desktop mouse. My hands are medium sized and this mouse is too small for me. If I rest my palm on the back side of the mouse, then my finger tips are an inch over the front and I cannot control the buttons. If I hold the mouse with just my fingers, then my hands start to cramp during normal use. My normal mouse if not much bigger than this, but it is just enough taller and longer to be much more comfortable for me. Of course, your hand is shaped differently, so you should try different products to see what works for you.

If you're using this mouse with a laptop and portability is an issue, then a more compact and portable mouse may be more interesting to you.

When I went to purchase a new mouse, this seemed like a solid choice since I wanted to get something simple, affordable and reliable. Given the criteria, this was an obvious choice. After having used this for a few months now, I will say AmazonBasics line never disappoints. The ergonomics are great: the mouse feels good in my hand, both in shape and texture. It is extremely accurate and the buttons have a reassuring click to them. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and will definitely give high regard to other AmazonBasics products in future purchases.

I have to say this is an awesome mouse for the price. I game quite a bit on my PC and for about 2 years I was using a Razer Deathadder Black. It was a great mouse, and I highly recommend it. Recently the right click on it had been acting up and not really working that well. I decided to save some money and instead of replacing it with something expensive, went with this mouse after reading some of the reviews for it. I am extremely happy with the purchase. Sure, it's a very simple mouse, but I don't really notice any huge difference in reaction in terms of movement and actions, and I love the pseudo rubberized feel to it - very similar to my Razer. It feels very soft in the hand and it pretty comfortable despite my larger hands (I mainly play with a claw grip on my mouse anyways).

I would highly recommend this mouse, you can't beat the price, and it's a good quality no frills mouse.

I am deployed to Afghanistan and needed a KVM setup as the unit I work for gave my stuff to the upper chain of command. That being said, I was looking for inexpensive and functional. The reviews for this mouse sounded like it would fit the part just fine for my mouse. It is just a simple two button + wheel mouse. The wheel also functions as the third button. The shape is slightly different from any other mouse that I have used. The bottom flairs out to the top and the middle, just behind the buttons is little wider than normal. I have found that if you use three fingers to operate the mouse leaving your middle finger on the wheel that this shape is actually nice as it my little finger and thumb rest nicely on that mid section.

All in all I think this is a very functional & capable little mouse. It is inexpensive and does what it needs to do. Is this a good replacement or alternative for that Cyborg Rat 9, not by any means. That is not this mouse's intended purpose. If you are just looking for a simple mouse that is inexpensive, I would recommend this mouse any day.I also like the flat black look as opposed to the glossy black.
