Got a P0301 error which means misfire on cylinder one. Replaced the coil on that cylinder with this coil and engine barely ran and threw multiple codes. Replaced this coil with the one from cylinder two and put my original bad coil on cylinder two. Now getting P0302 which was expected (misfire moved with bad coil) but engine runs better than with this new coil. Returning this part and ordering a VW OEM coil.

I like to keep my car running smoothly.
I settle on these based on the reviews, They fit my vehicle and I had never had problems with standard motor products before.
Installation was a breeze in my A4. I go to turn on the car and feel no noticeable change in performance. I think nothing of it.

Fast forward to 3 months later and only 2,000 miles. Driving home when all the sudden I feel my engine begin to shake as the check engine light flashes. As some of you may know this is the car telling you to pull off and turn off the engine to avoid damage. I find a safe spot on the side of the road to wait for the tow truck, When he goes to scan the car it shows a misfire in cylinder 3.

I first replace my spark plug thinking to myself that it couldn't be the new ignition coil. Turn on the engine and no difference, End up replacing the coil with a replacement from Autozone. No more issues and check engine light is gone. The ignition coil was dead just 2,000 miles after being installed. At this point I think this must be just a one in a million occurrence,

This was a big mistake on my part. Fast forward to mid December and I am driving to my parent's home for the holidays, 300 miles from home in the middle of nowhere and once again shaking engine, flashing check engine light, and a misfire in cylinder 1. I won't go into how long it takes to get to the next town over going at 25mph just to find a replacement coil. By this point I had realized the quality of these ignition coils left much to be desired.

Avoid yourself the hassle and purchase another ignition coil. I will never again purchase Standard Motors Products,

Performs well after couple thousand miles. Fit was not perfect but works. Had a little trouble with the boot sliding onto the spark plug. But it went on eventually. Used on a 2010 Jetta 2.5 that was misfiring. Fixed my issues by replacing all 5 coil packs.

I had 2 cylinder misfires and i changed all the spark plugs. Spark plugs did not fix it. I ordered 2 coil packs from this company and low and behold this fixed my problem. I got the items NEW. For a good price, i'll buy again. I ordered the part saturday morning and got my coil packs thursday. For what I paid, great item. Anyone who has a VW knows that VW does not like cheap parts.
