I got a couple of these as backups for the Nikon provided model. They seem just fine. The plastic, like the Nikon-branded product, is not scratch-proof. . .in fact it doesn't even seem to be scratch-resistant, so with considerable use consider this to be a "consumable item".

In my D7000's case, even it being almost fastidiously careful, some dust is making it under the main screen cover that is permanently fitted to the camera back. I have seen other complaints of this. THIS or the Nikon cover do not seem to reduce the problem. I did decide, since I need to pop off this cover for critical viewing, to also apply a Goliton Screen Protector 3.0" Digital Camera Anti-Scratch LCD Ultra Crystal Clear (Invisible) Screen Protector for Nikon D90/ D700/ D7000 series (2-pack) which is also an excellent product. It provides an extra measure of safety when this cover is off.

This is a replacement screen protector for the Nikon D7000 camera. The only difference is, it does NOT have the Nikon name on it. Witch is No Big Deal to me.
It came in a box, with the screen protector covered with plastic on both sides front and back, needed to pull off the plastic covering to use it on the camera. Looks Good.
Came unscratched and ready to go. Just click it on the back of the camera over the screen, works great. I love it and will purchase this same one again. I hope this helps you decide your purchase if you have a Nikon D 7000 Camera .... Thank you.

This cover is not as clear as the Nikon original (which breaks easily if you are not super-careful when you remove it), but it's good enough to protect the screen while the camera is being transported - which is the only reason you should use it. This (& the Nikon original) is not for use while shooting. Buy a regular screen protector for that.

I might add that this replacement seems to be more rugged than the original, and less likely to break at the top during a hasty removal. And did I mention that it's much cheaper?

My original protector was beat to hell before I got a side sling. This piece was much cheaper than the Nikon brand and it fit perfectly. If my new one gets too messed up, I will just order another one of these. Very good quality.

Cons: Not very rugged, lower quality than OEM

I like to preserve the OEM LCD screen in the back of my Nikon D7000, and have kept the factory cover on at all times. After 2 years, 40,000 miles, and 20,000 clicks, the original protector was showing some wear. (Well, a lot of wear) Found this product on Amazon, liked the price, so ordered it.
It appears to be a softer plastic, and does not seem to be as rugged as the original. After two months of moderate use, the protector has some scratches and is looking as bad as the old one I replaced after two years of use.

I would not recommend this product, if I had it to do again, I'd spend more and better quality.

It's not as clear as the original Nikon D7000 screen. Feels a little muddy, but serves all right. Has problems if viewed from polarized sunglasses, which I believe is the same in the stock version too.

Preferred this since this was cheaper than stock Nikon.
