I moved into a new house over a year ago and suffered months of long and sleepless nights due to congested, stuff up noses that made it impossible to breath through my nose and made it hard for me to go to sleep because of how prominent the blockage felt (A doctor friend of mine guessed that I have a deviated septum as well as Chronic congestion/sinusitis).

I tried manual solutions (breathe right strips); electric mechanical solutions (humidifer and air purifier) and chemical solutions (pills)--purchasing many of these on Amazon. Though I felt they alleviated the situation some, it was not sufficient to reduce the discomfort and free up nose breathing so I could get to sleep easy.

One night I literally went through almost two boxes of tissues, blowing my nose constantly only to go to bed, fill stuffed and uncomfortable again, and have to get up and blow my nose again, time after time. The next day I searched for a better on the spot solution than the nasal spray I had been using and came across this spray and one Xlear saline nasal spray.

I find both are effective at immediately ceasing congestion and opening up my nose passage ways so I can breath through them and not have to deal with the discomfort of blockage. Between this and Xclear, I prefer the Simply Saline first. With both, it's easy to "overdose" with them as when my nose is blocked, I can't initially feel the mist/spray in my nose (and thus, would keep squeezing or spraying more than I should).

With the simply saline, I did not feel any effects from accidentally spraying continually. But from the Xclear I did, my one nostril felt really dry (that it needed moisture) and irritated. It went away in 15 minutes and I could breathe through the passage but the irritation was quite noticeable.Read more ›

I have been using this product for years. Unfortunately I did not receive the product as pictured. They sent me the one with the yellow Arm and Hammer label that contains bicarbonate. I wanted the pure product that I have always used, that is to say SIMPLY saline. Bait and switch, ya think?

I have chronic sinus problems and I'm known to carry nasal spray in my purse, just in case. I saw a commercial for Simply Saline with one of the TV Doctors and it was advertised to work as well as other over the counter nasal spray, but without the harmful side effects. I've tried using the saline spray regularly, even when I don't need it, just to try and keep my nasal passage ways open throughout the day, but it doesn't seem to be working and it doesn't bring an immediate relief like my Vicks Sinex 12 Hour Decongestant Nasal Spray 1/2 OZ does. Truthfully, I really hate to write this review because I wanted it to work very badly, so I no longer need to use the Vicks spray I worry is causing damage to my nasal cavity and throat. Unfortunately, I haven't found anything else to help me breathe through my nasal passageways when my allergies are really bad. I know different medications and such work different for different people, so maybe others will have more positive results, but I just wasn't one of them.

**UPDATE** (about three weeks later):

My nasal/sinus issues did not improve and actually got worse (to the point I couldn't breathe through my nose at all and would gasp for air and gag whenever I closed my mouth, which make eating/drinking very difficult), so I went to the doctor. Turns out I had a sinus infection and apparently if you use the Vicks nasal spray for more than a few days you're body basically becomes addicted to it.Read more ›

I've been using this product for years and think it's the best product of this kind out there. Simple to use and preservative free. Immediately makes my nose less stuffy feeling. Also great for rinsing out your nose after working in a dusty environment.

I've had chronic sinusitis for years. I've tried Allegra, zyrtec, Claritin, flonase, Sudafed and Benadryl. After I found an article linking mold spores to chronic sinusitis and recommending saline irrigation, I tried this stuff and it has worked wonderfully. I used it at night and in the morning and it alleviate my sinus problems. The best part is that it doesn't have any side effects. By the way, I prefer this over the squirt battles because the mist is finer and the saline stays sterile.

I have now switched to Neilmed Sinus Rinse. It's more work but it gave me better results. I would still recommend Simply Saline for winter dryness.

It's saline spray plus baking soda. It works to flush out your nose and help moisturize it. It didn't sting when I used it. It came within one month of expiring but I'm using it since it should be ok since its sterile. This plus drinking enough water and a humidifier with sinus essential oils works great for sinus relieve from dry winter air.
