I am not a guy who believes in having to use dealer parts or name brand parts on 12 year old cars. I do believe in a quality manufactured part for the drivetrain (after all thats what gets you around). Beck Arnley has a decent reputation and price was fair too. The DIC looks almost identical in color and shape as OEM...but that is about it. When I got it i noticed one of the screws holding the coils onto the cassette were a bit loose. I figured maybe they got vibrated loose in shipping. So I readjust those. I installed the cassette and it worked decent for about a week. It then failed as I was pulling down my street one evening. Maybe I got a bad one but I think they should step up their quality inspections some.

I bought one of these for our 2002 Saab 9-3. It does look the same but left us stranded after about 3 months. When I realized it was the DI unit I got the old one and took a good hard look. While they do look the same at first glance they are not. The original has a sticker Identifying it as original Saab and has a bar code. It also is a sealed unit. I am not sure who makes this one, but it is not the same quality. Beck Arnley usually has good stuff, but not this. It says it has a one year warranty, but I see no way to make a claim.

Bought it because of the price, started failing after only 28 days.
No warranty, or any other paperwork, other than the receipt from Amazon came with my order. Changed to copper (NGK) plugs, no problems now.

I own a SAAB shop. I thought I would offer a less expensive alternative to an OEM DI Cassette. 5 out of 5 of these have crapped out and outside of the return window. I am sitting on a pile of cassettes that are worthless. Save the headache and get an OE SAAB (Lucas) DI Cassette.

They claim quality construction but uses cheap plastic and isnt sealed. Unit failed less than 6 months later. I would spend the extra on a better brand.

Exactly what the good Doctor ordered for my Saab 9-5 (2006). 4 bolts, one electric clip: Bing-bang-boom, on and off drop-in replacement. 5 minutes total repair, including finding the proper Torx bit. Sure beats the $900 (including labor) that the local Saab shop charged for the same repair 2 years ago.

The old DIC must have been going bad slowly, as the new DIC raised my overall average mileage (which I track fastidiously) went from 21 to 23mpg.

I was very unsure about purchasing this product, because it is not OEM product. It actually works great, Check engine light is off and have more power. Just have to wait and see how long it last.

Quit after warranty.

Do not buy this part. Mine caused a hot stalling issue after about 10k miles, was difficult to diagnose from the CELs it threw...finally tried my old DIC and the car is running fine now, now no hot stalling so this DIC was definitely the cause.
