I'm not sure what took me so long to replace my cuisinart hand mixer.
I've never liked it... At the lowest speed on the cuisinart I would
Have to mix everything in the deepest bowl, inside of the sink
And on the lowest setting. I would still walk away with a splatter
Mess everywhere.

Well not any more. This kitchenaid 5 speed mixer is fantastic.
Low is actually r-e-a-l-l-y low and increases to high very gradually.
Works great, comes with dough hooks, too!

The color is gorgeous and is actually what.sent me over the top.

I've made cookie dough, cake batter. Bread dough and mashed potatoes, too.
I could not be happier with it!

I purchased the KitchenAid Green Apple 5 Speed Hand Mixer somewhere else, and I've only had it one day, so I can't attest to its durability, but I'm very pleased with it so far. The mixer I had before was so loud and powerful that it was nearly impossible to do anything gently. That's not the case with this one. The 5 speeds are actually different from each other - it doesn't start out on high and just go higher from there. The first setting seems pretty gentle to me, and I have to turn it up rather high for batter to be flung around the room. It's also rather quiet - quieter than any other hand mixer I've heard before. I'm definitely pleased with it, and hope it stands up to years of use.

I've used the hand mixer to make cookies but nothing else yet. The whisks work great, the speeds aren't too fast and there is a definite difference between the speeds. Also, I hate when mixers go from 0 to extreme and throw my things around-this mixer doesn't do that. I also used the dough mixers for the cookies and they were perfectly for mixing in the chocolate chips. Like I said: so far so good.

I've recently been wanting to try more involved baking recipes where an electric mixer would be really helpful. After looking at tons of reviews for hand mixers (stand mixers were outside my price range) I decided to go with this stylish product. I've had it for several months now, and couldn't be happier. I originally bought this primarily for the whisk-attachment mixing to prepare brownies and crepes, which it does very well. What I wasn't expecting was to actually use - and love - the dough hooks and the blender attachment. Overall, I love this device and would highly recommend it. If you'd like to hear a bit more detail, I've described the various functions in more depth below.

===Whisk Attachments===

What I wanted:

I was looking for a mixer to do three things: mix eggs to be super fluffy for various recipes, achieve excellent crepe-mix consistency, and to quickly mix thicker mixes for things like brownies.

What I got:

This mixer does all these things really well. The mixer is really easy to clean as well, and I usually have no issue with power. Sometimes the mixer kicks up some flour, but once you get used to positioning it and adjusting the speed you can get really great results. The mixer manages to get my eggs so fluffly that when I prepare baked egg dishes the eggs actually rise! I haven't tried to make merengue yet, but my SO made a really delicious chocolate mouse with this attachment and said it worked fantastically.

What I wanted:

I had never even heard of these before, and I honestly didn't think I would ever use them. I decided I would give them a shot on a really involved chocolate chip cookie recipe and would see if they were worth keeping around.Read more ›

This mixer works fine, my only problem is that both dough hooks have a collar on the shaft so neither of them fits in the one side of the mixer.

I sent an email to KitchenAid over a week ago and I still hvve no reply.

Very disappointed in the power of it. It's not very powerful and I thought I was getting a more powerful hand mixer than I thought I was. I already have one and I was getting another for my son and was trying to duplicate the power but it's not and I paid too much for the lack of power it puts out.

I absolutely love the color. This is pretty close to my favorite color, chartreuse, but it is not enough to justify the purchase. I burned my Hamilton Beach hand mixer out making holiday cookies, so I thought that I would treat myself to a nice, new hand mixer. I finally used this mixer for the first time to make a cheesecake for Easter. This was so horrible underpowered and the ergonomics of the device made it exceedingly disappointing to use. Honestly, the highest power on this device seemed equivalent to the middle speed on my old Hamilton Beach.
