Would have given a 5-star except the bags are not compostable which is why I bought them. They are labeled "green" and so we used these bags all summer and loved them. Very durable, even withstanding how full I pack the bags. Unfortunately, my garbage service didn't take the bags today and when I called to ask why, they said the word "Compostable" needs to be printed on the bag -- industry standard and -- MN state law. Since the word isn't there, these bags are not compliant for lawn bags.

I purchased these bags because they are 100% biodegradable. This aspect makes it a no-brainer, but I'd be hesitant to purchase them again due to the weakness of the bag. They would rip very easily making the chore of raking leaves a difficult one. The band with the tie wrap would break with ease. I'm not sure what bags other reviewers used, but these bags are anything but strong.

Good quality! Held up everything I put in it until I let it sit outside for a couple months before taking it to the refuse station. Then it was a little weak, but that's the point, because it's supposed to decompose.

Man at refuse place said it is "biodegradeable" but NOT "compostable", in case it matters to anyone. Meant that the plastic will decocmpose, but the threads holding it together as a bag won't, so there will always be little strands/strings left in the dirt.

Pricey plastic bags, but NOT compostable. Big type: "Eco-friendly" and "Reduce carbon" and "Green 'n Pack products return 100% back to nature" and "Help keep the environment clear of plastic litter" and "designed to decompose in a short period of time unlike conventional plastic bags" and even "Independent scientific tests confirm that our Green 'N Pack products are designed not to pollute the Earth with plastic litter, toxic residue, and methane whereas when other bio degradable bags decompose they release methane which causes greenhouse gas." Also: "designed to turn plastic into a material that has a completely different molecular structure that is bio-assimilated in the open environment, similar to the decomposition of a leaf."

In tiny type on the bottom of the box: "This bag is not designed to dispose with food wastes for compost program or home composting. Please dispose them responsibly by landfill, incineration, or recycle to be consistent with the policy of 'reduce, reuse and recycle'.

In other words: fill these "eco" bags with leaves and then send them to the landfill or incinerate; no one could possibly "reuse" these if they're put to the intended purpose. And if you send them to a landfill, they will not be in an "open environment" (because they'll be buried by other trash) and thus will not be "bio-assimilated".

Waste of money.

Purchased this because It says Eco Friendly and it is 100% back to nature. When we received it, the box in tiny print says, not compostable. It cannot be used for green, organic waste. Sad that I will have to landfill these.

These are really strong and durable oversized bags with a very handy cinch feature. I have not had an issue with breakage once while cleaning out our four cat litter boxes. My husband prefers them to the many other eco alternative bags I've purchased in the past and actually protested when he saw that I had ordered yet another new eco natural bag alternative to this brand. I did so due to the only drawback that I could find....The price. As far as trash bags go, they are steep and while I don't mind shelling out more for more eco-minded products and greater quality, I just can't justify the price for these until I know I've exhausted all of the options out there.

I honestly didn't think I could prefer one set up trashbags over another, but I LOVE these bags!!! They are superb, strong, and the perfect size, and they even come w/ drawstrings. And most of all, they are this beautiful bright green w/ their green logo on the side so everyone can see and the message of 'going green'. I buy these in 6-8 packs and give them to friends and family members, trying to get them on board :)
