Excellent quality and versatility

Without a doubt, this is the most versatile piece of cookware I have ever owned.

Let's start with the basic form and shape. This is a deep, steep-sided pan, but rather than being just a simple cylinder like a stock pot, the sides curve upward. The depth allows it to be used as a stock pot (and thanks to the copper core, water boils in it much more quickly than in my stainless steel pots of equivalent size), but the curved sides allow it to be used as a wok or even as a skillet (as long as you don't have to flip things like pancakes). Browning meat for a sauce or soup, sauteing vegetables, or boiling water for pasta all work equally well. Ever since I bought this pan, I've made very little use of my stainless steel pots for anything other than steaming. The lid fits well (and makes a great lid for a 12" skillet too). An added bonus is that this pan isn't so large that it crowds out the adjacent burner.

Fit and finish? As good as it gets. On most pans, the rivet heads inside the pan collect grunge, and if they are coated the coating wears away. However, this pan's rivets are smoothly blended into the inner surface, and are coated with the same nonstick material as the rest of the pan. You have to look hard to even see where they are. The handles are nicely shaped, and the rivets are extremely tight; there's not a trace of wobble or looseness. The domed lid has a mirror-like finish that wipes clean (even if something is cooked right onto it).

Heating performance? Outstanding! I don't have a gas range (pity me!), and have to make do with an ordinary electric cooktop. However, heating is very rapid and uniform even with a craptastic electric burner.Read more ›

Nice size and weight to this pot

This pot is perfect for my portable induction cooktop. I will use this pot mainly for rice and stew recipes. The sloping sides of the saucier make it so easy to turn rice over and to stir stews without any spillages. I wouldn't use metal utensils on it although it's been treated with a tough non-stick interior to withstand that abuse.

I don't know how I got along without this pan for so long

Great pan!

This pan is very utilitarian and with a belgian belly and flared sides is great for sauces and small portions. I went with this over a 2 qt. and the extra 1/2 quart is excellent. Only thing is that it should be made with a glass lid.

Analon 2 1/2 quart sacier

I bought this pot about a month ago and think its great. I use it for sauces, reheating soup, and boiling water to make a small amount of noodles. It cleans very easily and I like that you can use silverware in it without being afraid of it scratching. I would definitely by additional pots or pans by Anolon when needed.

Got this for making a perfect pot of rice and have found it can do that and perfect risotto and so much more! It's a great weight - and the handle is at an excellent angle for lifting, pouring, and turning. The lid fit's beautifully with no openings - no little vents or such - which is great for rice. The anodized non-stick surface cleans up easily. It really is just right!

Non-stick coating is fragile despite claims to the contrary.

A work of art. Easy to use. The lid is especially well designed with just the right amount of space for either fingers or a pot holder on the handle.

The bad is that it is quite heavy. If you don't need the induction cooking feature look for something lighter weight.

VERY BAD!!!! The non-stick lining already has a few scratches in it with just 3 uses with a metal spoon and spatula.

It does have a good guarantee so I suppose I'll just return it if the damage continues to occur.

Meanwhile I have switched to wooden or plastic implements but even these seem to scratch the finish.

Perhaps this particular item has a "factory defect" and I will return in that case. Obviously plastic or wood implements should not be causing damage to the non-stick lining.

Ironically the size and shape of this pot means mostly I am boiling food so the non-stick feature is unnecessary :)

Not sure how to provide followup to this review but will try.
