We had an issue with an older cat who urinated in an unused room. We unfortunately didn't notice it until the stains had set in. I have used every pet stain remover on the market, including those with enzymes on this problem. Nothing has completely removed the smell, which is when I realized that I most likely had urine that had gotten behind the carpet and either wicked up the sheetrock inside the wall or had soaked into the pad and subfloor - meaning the only solution was to rip it all out and start over.

I thought I'd give this new Bissell product a try though, just in case (I'm not looking forward to this home improvement project!).

Before using it, I tried to find any information at all about the chemical makeup of this new cleaner, but Bissell is very vague. The site states: "BISSELL 2X Professional Pet Urine Eliminator formula contains no heavy metals, phosphates or dyes and has biodegradable detergents." Well, it says it HAS biodegradable detergents, but not that it is made up of them exclusively. So it could have 1% biodegradable detergents and 99% non-biodegradable ingredients. Also, cat pee is biodegradable, and I'm not all that happy with having it on my carpets, so as far as I'm concerned, I find Bissell's product bio-babble frustrating. Just tell me what's in the bottle, will you?

Mixing and using this shampoo with our Bissell cleaner was the same as using our regular shampoo. I do really like the very light scent of this product, it is gently citrus-y and most of the odor is gone once the carpet is dry. I have a full sized steam cleaner and have used a few of the Bissell cleaning products with it, but this seems to be the best that I've tried. This smells amazing! It smells so much better than the redish color Pet Stain formula. With that one, I could still smell some of the urine, but with this one the odor is completely gone. It did not leave the carpet crunchy like some other stain removing solutions do. Also, it worked faster than some of the other products. I went over the carpet a few times and the stain came out, whereas some of the previous ones I've had to go over the same spot multiple times. Finally, I had no issues with the carpet being discolored. I have a dark tan carpet that I've been worried about from time to time with stain removing products. I tried this on a very small area before going over the few spots that I had, there was no discoloration so I went for other areas. It worked out wonderfully.

This product is absolutely AMAZING. I adopted a beautiful little retired show dog who had spent most of his life in a crate about 18 months ago. He is crate- trained but doesn't understand the concept of housebreaking. I tried everything on my carpets but they looked and smelled terrible. This product (used in my Bissell steam cleaning machine) has made my carpet look and smell like it is brand new. Don't waste your money on more or less expensive products! This is hands down the best (and NO, I do not work for Bissell!).

Great product. Smells great. Doesn't oversud. Leaves no sticky residue. Keeps kitty odor at bay.

I have two cats and a dog and have had a few accidents on my carpeting. The only way to keep the smell away is to clean/shampoo the carpet monthly or every other month. I now only do the carpets every two months because this product is so good. The water that comes from my steamer (Hoover SteamVac) is dark grey with dirt and grime. I didn't even realize that I had a spot of discoloration by the bathroom door until this product removed the spot. I thought the carpet pile was just weird in that spot. BTW, my carpet is a light beige, called blonde beige. I use it on my wool rug and it works great, just be sure to suck up all the water you can on wool flooring. The smell of the product is clean and fresh. Goes away after a day or two, although I wouldn't mind if it stuck around a little longer.

Also, I have a husband and a kid, and their spots and spills are cleaned well with this product. It did not remove all of a stain produced by dried red poster paint, but decreased it by 95%. Next time I'll spot treat it first and I'm confident it will be removed.

As a woman, I produce no smell/odor and never spill anything, so I can't comment on that ;-)

This stuff is a miracle worker!!! I have the nose of a bloodhound and unfortunately, my roommate's dog decided to use our common area as his personal restroom. The smell became absolutely unbearable and I was worried that not only would the carpets have to be ripped up and replaced but that it was becoming a health hazard. After reading some reviews on this product, I decided to give it a shot. The carpets have been restored and there isn't any trace of odor! I will say I also used Nature's Mircale Pet Urine Destroyer as a pretreatment. If you're looking for a mircale combination, then I recommend using Nature's Miracle first and using this product as the main cleaner. I can't stress enough how amazed I am that the smell is completely gone! Never in a million years would I think a cleaner actually works like it says it does!
