I could have said "Amazing Guitar, for the money", but I didn't want to qualify the description. This is a truly fabulous guitar. Very punchy, strong mids and low range but still good highs when you want them. Great set up and action. Fast neck like an old Strat.

The quality in this instrument is excellent. I would say the Chinese Guilds have very high standards for quality and assembly. The finish is very glossy, like a mirror on the front and back. The satin finish neck is a good idea, it feels good, and again it's fast. The wood grain is striking and the glossy finish allows it to be seen clearly.

It's a fun guitar to play. Solid mahogany has a distinctive sound, especially when compared to the standard spruce top with hog or rosewood sides and back. This is a great addition to anyone's musical arsenal.

Edit - A few weeks have gone by now and some of the "new" has worn off this guitar. This all solid mahogany guitar has become my best friend. I reach for it from my chair often. I am truly enjoying the warm sounds it produces.

Warning! I put a set of extra light 80/20 strings on it and ruined the sound. I immediately went back to the standard light gauge phosphor bronze strings and the sound was back. Moral of the story is, don't mess with it. There's nothing you're going to do that will improve it.

I have ordered a Fishman Matrix Infinity pickup system for it. My hope is that the pickup will keep the mahogany sound and not make it sound like spruce. My normal gigging guitar is a Rainsong. It sounds great and it's almost indestructible. I am anxious to see how the Guild will fit with the Rainsong

I have owned this guitar for almost 5 years now. I bought it at a local guitar store for about the same amount. When I was picking it out I tried some Martin s and Taylor's in the same price range and this guitar blew me away. Unless you are willing to spend $1000+ on a Martin or Taylor this guitar is the way to go for the price range. Not only did any other guitar not produce a sound as good as this guitar they all looked bland and cheap. This guitar stands out, its beautifully constructed and just sounds great. Guild is a great maker of guitar and I am definitely buying my next $1000+ guitar from them. I have used this guitar for many different gigs and always produces a great sound. It is very very comfortable to play and just overall wonderful. Give it a go

The Guild GAD Series D-125 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Natural sounds great. There is a mellow clear tone produced from it. Finger picking is easy on it-easier than my Yamaha, and it can sing out when strumming. It came in a great case and is a beautiful- appearing guitar. the only set back is that the pick guard is a bit inferior--Read this in one of the reviews--so it was to be expectar ed.
Will change it out eventually. Also, I have to research which strings may feel better-it's ok as is but could be better (strings-that is)
Over all great guitar for the price-couldn't be more pleased!

First, I do not play the guitar. I play the piano, but my fiance' plays the guitar and has 5 different electric guitars and didn't have an acoustic guitar. When my father got out his 12 string acoustic Fender that is older than me and started playing it months ago, my fiance's eyes lit up and he enjoyed taking a turn playing it. My father's Les Paul from when he was in high school was more appealing, but that's just a bit above my affordability :)

I've been out of work on disability and he has been doing all the extra work that I just can't do anymore. So, I decided to spend a little more on him for Christmas. I had researched acoustic guitars for months before choosing this guitar. I asked my father and numerous friends that play guitars for their input on what I should get. I actually found out more by researching by myself. After reading endless reviews, watching tons of videos, and weighing the different options for each model, I narrowed it down to three models:

Martin X Series DX1AE Acoustic-Electric Guitar
Taylor 110 100 Series Acoustic Guitar, Sapele, Dreadnought
Guild GAD Series D-125 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Natural

I had this guitar shipped to my parent's house, since I had no place in the house to hide it and I wanted my father to try the guitar for himself to make sure I picked a good guitar.

Not only do the pictures online look beautiful, they also do NOT do justice to the beauty of this instrument. This guitar arrived in flawless condition. The solid wood is just beautiful. Also, the case that the guitar comes in is VERY nice! It is molded to this guitar and has very thick, plush lining. Yes, this guitar is made in China, but it is quality mahogany and is SOLID wood. There isn't any laminate of any kind on this instrument.

This is a really good guitar...it looks spiffy, it sounds greats with lots of mid range and a fast neck.
I love this guitars full sound. I am so happy to have bought it...I put a fishman rare earth on it....I have played out
with it a couple of times with great results...this is an exceptional value. buy it now before they raise the price.
Cool looks almost like Koa....it is glossy as opposed to the martin d15 ...the sound is about the same as that guitar
with a few differences...I think the guild is actually for the money astounding...the martin is great but lordy it
costs 2 times what this all wood maghogony guitar costs.....fender owns guild and fender is about quality. Even if they
are the guitar company that ate the earth this guild is good.....I am still mad at fender for basically icing down tacoma
and making them a after thought ......I hope they reconsider.....However if this is an indication of where guild is going
get on board and get you a great value...before they price it at 1200 bucks.
