We have a multi-cat household, and follow the rules of one litter box per cat +one. For years, I used ScoopAway, which was awesome for clumping and odor control. But the dust became overwhelming. There was not a surface in my house that wasn't covered in fine cat litter dust. So I did some research, read reviews, and ordered Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat litter. It is AWESOME! There is very little dust with this litter. It clumps. My cats like it. I am happy my house is no longer covered in dust nor smells like perfumed cat litter. I do recommend you purchase the ultra-scented variety, unless your cat has issues with light scents. That would be my one recommendation to this company: increase the amount of scent. It is moisture activated, so the scent isn't overwhelming, but it also doesn't mask the odors as well when scooping. For me, though, I can live with that to eliminate 95% of the perfumed cat litter dust that cloaked my entire house. Three cheers for Dr. Elsey's!

Came promptly, I always buy it, but this time I bought the "ultra Scented" my question is WHERE IS THE ULTRA SCENT? There is not scent at all. It is absolutely the same as the regular one I bought in the blue bag. So I will not bother buying this scented one again because IT IS NOT SCENTED. It works well, however in the very beginning it was less dusty than it is now. Now I find that is has some dust. LEss than Tidy Cat which I used before, but it is not completely as they state dust free. Would I recommend it as highly as I did before, NO.

I was happy with Fresh Step, until they changed the formula. Now, the perfume is worse that the worst cat odor!
Dr. Elsey's Ultra Scented, barely has any odor of its' own, and completely eliminates any unpleasant cat odors, even when I don't scoop as often as I'd like to. Let's see now.. It's reasonable priced, there's no nasty chemical odor, no cat odors, and it clumps really well.. Hmm...
It's perfect!

This litter is fantastic for my cats. Let's face it, if their litter box smells, you are not changing it often enough or you need an additional one. Cats do not like the scented litters and a couple of mine were allergic to the scent - just sneezed for minutes after using. The clay in this litter absorbs and there is no smell - unless you neglect to change it (see 2nd sentence :0)).
I really enjoyed it when Amazon shipped it. The last 2 times it came directly from Petco; the 1st shipment - no complaint, it was perfect; but, the 2nd order I placed had boxes that were ripped open and, thankfully, all except one bag remained intact (I ordered 4). The last one must have opened in the shipping department - it was placed within a large plastic bag and then re-boxed. A bit difficult to handle, but I managed.
This is a great product and I understand the weight involved in shipping, so, unless my next order comes with loose litter, I am going to keep ordering it. Heck, the damaged boxes were easy to breakdown for shipping.

This is fantastic litter. I just came back after several days, the person caring for the cats didn't scoop as often as they should have, but this stuff clumps hard & to my surprise, nothing but clean litter was left. Great stuff. It does track a bit, no worse than other I've used. It also is a bit dusty, again, nothing more than others. But wow, does it clump & scoop great.

Dr. Elsey's litter is the best! Used it for years- and I am not good at changing litter daily- ( sometimes only twice a week) - yet this never gives off odor.
It's low dust too. My cats like it.
I also love the 'cat attract' version - which must have catnip or other pheromone enhancers in it, to attract a cat to use its box. This is good for training new kittens to the box, as its irresistible, or even training cats back to the litter box, who've developed bad habits of 'going elsewhere'. The litter box becomes their new favorite place.
Never keep a litter box too close to the food, btw, .... That would be like serving dinner to a human, in the bathroom.

YES IT IS DUST FREE AND WISH ALL CAT LITTER WAS LIKE THIS. MANY CATS ARE SUFFERING FROM SKIN AND BREATHING THE DUST WHEN THE USE THERE LITTER BOX. IT IS A MUST AND WILL CONTINUE TO BUY PET STORES ARE NOW CARRYING IT TOO.
