Most Excellent product value! Charger works flawlessly in the house or plugged into the car lighter. Charges very fast. The batteries are rated @ 1200 mAh which is higher than the 1050 mAh that the original battery is rated at. Charger gets slightly warm while charging but the batteries stay cool. The floaty will suspend the camera in water. Tested it in a 5 gallon bucket, picture enclosed. Had to wrap the lanyard around a bit to achieve the test because bucked is shallow. The tripod is fine on a desk or other flat surface and could serve some utility. Don't think you will get much use outdoors with it. A device that would hook the camera to a tactical vest for action video would have been more useful. The charger is rated to charge the original battery as well according to the markings on the charger, it lists original battery model specifically for compatibility. It is charging now. The design is ok...a little bulky, but that's to be expected with an inexpensive charger. The free software that comes with the kit would have added value except I ripped the security label when trying to carefully peel it back. Perhaps try to moisten the little redemption code paper before peeling so you won't rip yours. Photo enclosed.
The batteries hold up well under constant use. I tested one of the new ones in the following manner:
10 minutes of snapping photos with the flash on as fast as the flash would recharge...about every 2-4 seconds.
10 minutes of browsing the photos with the built in screen.
20 minutes of recording video.
Result: Battery meter still reads full.
Overall best value you can get. The few minor flaws were not enough to justify taking a star away.
