I purchased this item on December 18th for $30 and now on December 23rd it is $24. About the product, I work in a flower shop and we wanted this to replace our old skillets that have had for years and were messy. Received skillet and was so excited because I had several floral arrangements to do for christmas. Well, got it hooked up and melted the glue and began my work. During the making of arrangement it began to cool down and so did the glue and it would heat up again in a bit and continued this and never would get hot enough like the old skillets we had; disappointing. Wished i had old ones back.

I have never been much of "hot glue gun" fan, but when I bought this skillet, I realized what I had been missing! It was
the glue gun itself I didn't like, with this skillet there were no more burned fingers and feeding glue sticks in the gun waiting for them to heat. I simply melted the glue, dip the item I was gluing and it is done! The temp control is awesome and makes it great for use on all kinds of materials. I definitely recommend this skillet to anyone that uses hot glue! You can even use a small paint brush to spread the glue on items that you can't dip. I love it and it works for me! I also now work in a local floral shop part time and bought a second one to use there, everyone there that has used it, loves it too!

I love electric skillets/glue pots and have always wanted one. This is my very first to own..... it is dangerous! An exposed heating coil lights underneath and will burn your work area. I also left my glue gun on the counter touching the pot. I plugged the extension cord in and left for a few minutes to gather more supplies. My brand new glue gun was smoldering because it was too close to the coil of the skillet! So, I've burned my work bench and now ruined a new glue gun. I hate to think what would have happened had I stayed out of the room for a few minutes longer. Now I use it but it is placed on top of a large cookie sheet with a hot pad underneath the sheet. Much safer now!! Love it! Just beware of the heating element.

I tried first to throw the glue in and see at what point it melted. It never melted completely without me having to stir it. Then it started smoking so I reduced heat but glue became extremely thick and hard to work with, so your options are either super hot where it's smoking and glue stays liquid or not hot enough and glue is sticky.
