Ordered a couple of those for our softball team pitchers practices which are indoors. They work well on the gym floor with minimal slipping on the floor. I wanted something that was not too pricey but still functional and these seem to fit the bill. Would recommend.

I was contacted by e-mail over the weekend about this mat and they said the following:
"If you want to use on gym floor you will have to remove the fabric scrim that is attached to the bottom of the foam. Do not remove the foam but gently pull fabric off the foam. The fabric is on there to protect the foam from rocks and dirt."

Since I have already added the adhesive to make it non-slip I did not try it but it looks like it would work. I am changing the review from one star to 4 stars because of their fast response and it is a well made pitching mat.

I purchased the 3'x2' Green Softball Pitchers Mound and the item shipped quickly, in about 4 days. When I got it it was rolled up and taped and when I unrolled it the ends were curled up. I was concerned about that but after it had been in the warm house for a couple of hours it laid flat. I did notice it had a strong odor so I set it in the garage to air out for about 5 hours.

We took it to the gym to practice pitching and I noticed that it slipped around on the floor pretty easily. I was concerned but I had my daughter try to pitch from it and she almost fell and the mound slipped a good foot or so. It was very dangerous. I am going to keep it because I need something for the weekend and I am going to try to figure out a way to make it slip proof. On the description it says "The guaranteed non-slip 5mm foam backing won't mar or harm gym floors" so I am very disappointed and ranking this with one star.

Also after driving only 3 miles to the school gym my car had to be aired out the smell was so bad and both my kids were holding their noses. Hopefully the smell gets better. I will update this review if it does.
