I love this shelf. I've been using it for a while now. My shower walls are kind of a smooth fiberglass and this thing hasn't budged! I have it loaded and it's still holding! I would highly recommend! As a matter of fact, I'm thinking about getting another one!

Bad craftmanship.

The shelving suction cups did not fit into the slots provided. I tried to return it and couldn't get a return slip. Seller wanted me to take photos of the suction cups before returning item. I tried to buy smaller cups myself, still couldn't get them to fit. I still have it....doesn't work.

I bought two of these shelves to replace a series of nasty corner tension shelves when I redid my bathroom. I'm picky about how items fit together spatially and these fit in my shower very nicely without taking up a lot of room or making the space look cluttered (we live in an 1940s bungalow-style house so the space is kind of limited). I read somewhere else that someone had a problem with the suction cups sliding after they had suctioned the cups to the wall; I've found that can be helped by making sure the wall is dry and the suction cups are wet when you hang the shelves. After figuring that part out, I've been able to put a couple of large shampoo bottles on one shelf without slippage. Even with a husband who manages to break just about everything he touches hasn't been able to get them to budge! I'm very happy with this purchase...might even buy one more "guest" shelf!

Teak shower shelf

This self-suction shelf arrived looking pretty much exactly as pictured in the image. It's a little bit shorter than I'd imagined, but I didn't check the precise measurements in my actual bathroom. I had hoped that the suction would work on the matte tiles of my shower wall so I could position the shelf on the same wall as the shower head, so I did a test run without any weight on the shelf to see if it would stick. In less than twenty minutes, the suction had disengaged enough that one end of the shelf swung down, although the shelf never actually fell off the wall. But I'd read that the suction worked best against glass, so I knew that was a possibility. My back-up plan was to suction it to my glass shower door, and that's wear it is. It looks like it will hold, with four or five shower products on it, forever. It looks great, but they really mean it when they suggest glass or ceramic tiles. Also, I'm a Canadian shopper, and I had to pay an additional $40 COD for customs charges, so be careful about hidden costs over the border.

Forget about the suction cups

The shelf itself is well made and I like it a lot. The problem I have is with the suction cups. I attached the shelf to my tile wall with the suction cups and it seemed to be holding. I then put my shaving equipment including a nice soap scuttle on the shelf. Two hours later there was a loud crash coming from the bathroom. I went in to find one of the suction cups had let go and the shelf swung down throwing my shaving equipment to the tile floor destroying my soap scuttle. I discarded the suction cups and have attached the shelf to my tile wall with 4 strips of velcro. It is now firmly attached and my shaving equipment is now safely out of reach of the children. Buy the shelf.......throw away the suction cups.

Great looking with a few quirks

I ordered one of these shelves, but it came without suction cups and has some tape residue on it, so the shipper quickly shipped suction cups and a new shelf. The new shelf adhered well to the wall, but we had to wet the suction cups. The color is a little darker than online. It holds a number of things, including soap, and has a slot for a razor, which is very convenient. I have noted that the shelf bleeds a little color onto the bottom of the white soap. We had trouble hanging one of the two shelves--it just didn't seem to want to stay suctioned to the fiberglass shower wall. We eventually got it to stay, after several failed attempts in which it would stay up for a day or a few hours and then fall down. All in all, I like the look and will continue to use the shelf.

WARNING IF YOU HAVE A MARBLE SHOWER!!

WARNING IF YOU HAVE A MARBLE SHOWER!!!

First off, these shelves are beautiful. The wood is nice and I was originally excited to have them. However, the first night after "installing" these on my shower glass, the shelf slid down the wall and came to rest on the marble on top of my marble shower wall. The wood then reacted with the residual water that was there from my shower, and made what could best be described as a yellow, glue like substance. When i discovered this in the morning I immediately wiped up the yellow substance; however, it had already etched the outline of the shelf into my marble (picture attached). Within 24 hours of receiving these, they have RUINED my marble shower!!

I thought at first that the shelf might have reacted with the chemical sealer that I applied to the marble, so prior to sending the shelves back I did a test. I sprayed an extra piece of marble (which was not sealed) with water and then set the shelf upon it for 1 hour. Sure enough, the same yellow substance appeared and the piece of marble was etched through the finish (picture attached).

I also tried attaching the shelf to the glass three additional times (with a towel underneath to make sure that it wouldn’t ruin more marble), and all three times the shelf slowly slid down the glass to rest on the towel.

These shelves, although beautiful and well made, will slowly slide down the glass and they will leak a yellow substance onto your marble when they become wet (and they are made to go in a shower....), and this substance will eat through the finish of your marble.

DO NOT BUY THEM IF YOU HAVE A MARBLE SHOWER!!!!

I am now stuck sending back both shelves and I will likely have to hire a stone professional to come and refinish the marble that they damaged.
