I've used this product twice. The first time I used it, worked like a charm. The second time I used it, only went thru one layer of paint. Not sure if it was too warm/dry outside which kept it from reaching full potential or if this bucket is just less potent. Would still suggest it tho, definitely saves time!

I followed the instructions, but I had to use two layers of remover in order to remove 5 layers of paints with a little extra job of my sander. I don't think that it would recommend this product. The odor of the remover is unbearable. I don't recommend to use this product in a small room.

I had tried another product that I did not like for removing paint off an old door frame. I went online and found the Ready Strip as a "best pick". I watched a video on Sunnyside's website. They had four different products on the video and she said that you have to find the best stripper for the item you are refinishing. My local Ace hardware had a quart of the Ready Strip so I took it home to use. I used it on a painted door frame, and on a drawer of an old oak dresser that had some type of clear coat on it. I loved the result of the oak drawer (it worked fairly fast) and the Ready Strip worked well on the door frame as well. I tend to not leave it on as long as they say because I am always anxious to see what the wood will look like. I may try to be more patient tomorrow and leave it on the door frame for about three hours:) Looking forward to finishing the oak dresser in the next couple of days as it dissolved that clear coat in about 30 minutes! I also liked it because I do not think it is healthy breathing in fumes and I did not notice an odor with this product.

I need to strip several layers of paint off a wall in the middle of a midwestern winter - I can't leave the windows open so regular strippers are not a good option. Sanding and dry scraping aren't good options because of all the dust it will create. I have small pets that could be affected by fumes or dust. I tested the paint for lead and all the layers came up negative, but I doubt that result since the house is 80+ years old.

I was excited to find Ready Strip since it is advertised as being safe and odorless. I picked up a quart at the local hardware store, opened it up and put a test patch on my wall. Oh, the stink was TERRIBLE!! It smelled like nail polish remover x 1000. Either the claims of being odorless are greatly exaggerated, or I got a bad batch. The smell was so awful I had to put on my vapor respirator, and I ended up scraping it off after about 20 minutes. In those 20 minutes it had cut through the top 1 and a half layers of paint, so it's certainly an effective paint remover, just absolutely terrible smelling.

It's stripper so it will have a smell to it, its not as bad as others in that department. I used this on a tub that the previous owner of my home had a diy failure on. A teal tub painted white with some sort of tub paint. Acetone and other attempts at chipping it off weren't working so I looked up paint stripper.
UNBELIEVABLE!! I did smaller sections, let it sit for 45+ minutes, misted with water (as recommend) and the paint rolled off the tub!!! Relatively easy clean up considering its gooy paint and remover. Then scrubbed the tub clean.
I can't seem to post the pictures directly from my phone so I'll add them later.

I love this product. Works exactly like advertised. Easy to put on, easy to take off. It doesn't irritate skin or stain clothes and it doesn't leave a lingering smell should you get some on you.

Con: It does take awhile for the color to change. I've used it twice on 2 windowsills and I'd say on average it took 6 hours. I typically put it either in the evening and it's ready the next day or morning and its ready by the end of the day. The good thing is that you don't have to take it off once it's ready. You can take it off when you are ready.

I bought this at the recommendation of a sales person at my local Ace. The good - it doesn't smell. The not so good - IT DOESN'T WORK! I followed the hard to read directions on the back of the container. In some areas it stripped well but most of the surface was left with a wax like scum which was very difficult to remove. In truth, I think I would have spent less effort just sanding as I now had to remove this tenacious wax like material.

I had to apply this product several times and it still did not remove all of the paint from the metal. It's messy and ate through my protective gloves. I would not use it again nor would I recommend it to ANYONE.
