I recently purchased these from, Amazon.com and I am a very happy and pleased customer. These are great to take if you suffer from neuropathy in you feet and hands like I do. These are rapid release capsules, and they go to work in the body very quickly. They are the only product that gives me relief from pain, tingling, and numbness in my nerve endings. Regular lipoic acid won't bring relief, but these rapid release do. If you suffer from neuropathy, you need to take these pronto. I can now sleep better, because of these wonderful capsules. They are cheaper on line than at the health food store, and they work just as well.

I use this to keep blood sugar in check and it's been wonderful. This brand is one of the only I can find with the higher dose per capsule. I've veered off to other brands, as well as regular Alpha Lipoic at times, but haven't gotten the same results- I can tell by whether or not I break out after having sugar. It's also a good anti-inflammatory.

I initially began use due to claims about it reducing scar tissue. At this time (updated 2013), I've been using it daily for about four years and haven't seen any change in scarring.

However, I would absolutely recommend trying an R-lipoic product to those with adult acne (other medical conditions and health allowing). Mine was due to dietary sensitivities/allergies, sugar being one (other common ones are hormonal triggers like soy, peanuts, and milk containing rbst). After going sugar-free for almost two years with noted improvement, I added this and can now have sugar without skin issues. In addition to having eliminated my other dietary triggers, this has been the product, after years of dermatologists and prescriptions, that transformed my skin. Even if that's not what one's taking it for, I suppose it speaks for its effectiveness for blood sugar regulation. I notice an improvement in other facial inflammation, as well, when I take these.

There is a lot being made about the label being deceptive and I suppose to some people they might see it that way. I would prefer to look at how much of the active material I get and compare prices based on that. If you do it that way you will find out that Dr. Best costs more then the life extension version for the equivalent amount of active material I'm comparing both at the subscribed price.

I started taking this because of it's antioxident properties. Not real sure how you would know if it was working or not.

I did notice that when I take this everything tastes too sweet. Even regular catsup tastes like it has too much sugar in it.

I went from using 4 teaspoons of sugar in my morning coffee to using 1 and a 1/2. I told my mother about everything tasting too sweet and she decided to try it. She took 1 pill and the very next morning her blood sugar was down 7 points. She now takes it everyday. She also noticed that everything tastes too sweet.

I bought this because I read that it can help with neuropathy. Since starting taking this about 6 months ago, I rarely even feel a tingling in my feet where as before, They was almost constant burning, pain, and discomfort. Started with 2 in the morning and moved to an additional capsule in the afternoon. It took about 3 - 4 weeks before I felt improvement.
